Flying Apron Cafe

First impression when walking in was that the restaurant wasn't very clean. Tables weren't wiped and there were crumbs embedded in the chairs. We ordered our overpriced food, and yet it seemed like it was a burden for the employees to take our order and make the food. Despite this, maybe the food would be good, but no, it tasted old and dry. Being a gluten-free & vegan restaurant isn't an excuse to serve poor quality food. There are plenty of ways to make excellent food despite those restrictions. Then after all this, we were expected to bus our own dishes (even though the food was already expensive and we had paid a tip). Safe to say I will not be back a second time.

My friend and I had salads and pizza. I have gluten and dairy allergies. I had kale salad and we had zucchini, cauliflower, and broccoli gluten free vegan pizza. It was excellent. They also carry Blue Sky sodas made with cane sugar. I wish i had looked at the label because I was thinking of the Blue Sky soda made with Stevia. Not their fault and it tasted good. I brought home some day-old baked goods and they were still very fresh-tasting.

Customer service here is truly bad. The ladies working behind the counter are slow (VERY slow at hot drink orders) and could care less if you are helped efficiently. They act like it's a bother to serve you. They opened over 20 min late this morning (at least - we finally drove off at 9:20 and they were supposed to open at 9) and were rude and unapologetic about it when we came back later and mentioned it. The "whatever" attitude (shrug and virtual eye roll included) is a shame - especially since we are regulars that have spent more than a small dime here. They do not treat customers well and are not friendly. As for food, we endure the customer service nightmare to grab gluten free options on the go as there are few other places that suit our needs. My daughter loves the cinnamon rolls so we keep coming back in spite of the service. My birthday cake was from Flying Apron and very good - almond with chocolate frosting. It was expensive but worth it. So, for that alone it gets the second star. Love the dessert and hope they can hire better staff that gives a hoot about the people they bake for. I'm rarely this disappointed in a business but after over two years of going here it just might not be worth a weekly trip in to be treated this way.

We arrived here with a baby and family from out of town, and as we tried to figure out how to seat ourselves in the dining area, the 2 employees behind the counter just watched and offered no assistance. Then as we tried to navigate the menu as first timers there, no help from the staff. The menu here was very limiting, and they were out of salads, ginger for smoothie, and their Mexican mocha was like a single shot espresso in a tiny mug. Their lasagna was microwaved and their cauliflower potato salad was so bland that barely anyone finished it. I ended up apologizing to my husband for taking his parents there while they were in town for the weekend as this meal and atmosphere was sub par. Will most likely not come back.
