The Habit

The hamburger stand that is much more than a "Joint." The meat burgers I am told are very good. The veggie burger is excellent. An open pepper bar offers unlimited refills; as does the cold soft drink bar. The fries and onion rings are cooked to order and delivered as you ordered, crisp, or very crisp or any other way. Orders come out of the kitchen quickly, even at their busiest time. The menu also offers chicken sandwiches and salads. There is a selection of buns or, if you prefer, a lettuce wrap. The counter staff is friendly and knowledgeable and are not afraid to step out to clear a table. Wheelchair accessible including gender neutral bathrooms. Free parking. Covid19 The condiments are now in little cups.. and the staff are trying to offset the layers of changes and requirements to stay open and still serve customers in a timely manner.. trying times.. but we will all get past these times in the near future.

While previous visits hadn't impressed my with the food quality, this time the food was excellent. Fries were crisp and flavorful, burgers were well balanced, juicy and delicious. The only thing keeping this from being a 5 star was their Covid precautions. The takeout like was not spaced out and folks were sitting inside by the cashier station waiting for their orders. Seemed to defeat the purpose of the restrictions and precautions.

I have come to this location many times and have never had a bad experience once. My personal favorite is the Santa Barbara char, which is what I order almost every time I go (although I have tried other burgers to and they’ve all been great). Everything is always prepared and cooked exactly right, and I really love the delicious strawberry lemonade that they offer in addition to regular fountain drinks. They are usually busy but they offer a lot of indoor and outdoor seating so you shouldn’t have trouble finding a place to sit. Staff is also usually quite friendly.

After third time ordering online really upsetting now. They don't follow instructions what we order how we want it. I recall one of those times really much more upsetting. I ordered on one of the burgers w/mushrooms they winded up putting it in the wrong burger. &the other w/mayo that wasn't suppose to have any. . That was bad as much as we thought go back we think not, knowing simply how crowded &trafficking it is up there. Plus covid happening. Just don't think we will pay visit perhaps just that Habit burger. 👎👎
