The Chicken Shack

2 Wednesdays in a row I've ordered and they've served me luke warm / room temperature food a couple minutes after I've ordered. I don't mind paying $40 for food for 2 people then dropping them a tip but the atrocious attitude when I ask for food cooked to order is uncalled for. Love the food when it's fresh, don't appreciate, cold food and a poor attitude, literally 2 minutes after I've ordered. Check your food every time! Demand edible food! I would hope Bethel would have hired a more a more dedicated public friendly group. Great food when it's fresh.

Visiting in Redding, googled best Chicken Strips. Love Chicken Strips, would have rather gone to Arbys, Dennys, or KFC for sure. These strips were big, thick curled up flavorless chicken pieces. Very little batter and no flavor. Bought the 8 piece, took 3 bites and tossed them in the garbage. My 16 yr old son had KFC the night before and said KFC were much better, he only ate 1 piece and we went to Round Table. For a place that "specializes" in Chicken I would have thought they would be somewhat good but no. I would have gave 2 stars but the fries were horrible. Do you even taste your food? How can you have fries so terrible? I can get fries anywhere better than those. I can see if your covering them in gravy over a waffle maybe some people like it but as a straight up strip they are bad, really bad. Really disappointed for a Chicken Shack.

We arrived at 10:25 am and they open at 10 am. You walk past a cute fence and then have to open a rickety, shakey gate to get in. Upon entry we were hit with the odor of dirty drains, mop water and old grease. It was so overwhelming there was no way we could have eaten food with those odors. My husband really wanted to try the Mother Clunker so we persevered and opted to eat outside. Door dashers were in and out so our order took a while to come. We had a Mother Clunker and B.E.C. The food was surprisingly decent. The soda machine had no syrup in the root beer and too heavy syrup on the Dr. Pepper. Some attention to cleanliness and repair would make a huge difference in the dining experience.
