Today the service was short handed but the view was beautiful. The food was great. Had the blackened chicken. Very tasty and moist. My wife had chicken Caesar salad , her chicken was dry. But the salad was good. Also came back for my birthday on 6/22 and had short rib meat gnocchi, it was so good. The best short ribs I ever ate. No bones .

We made reservations for a Sunday brunch in advance, for a birthday celebration and it seemed the restaurant wasn’t ready to accommodate. There weren’t enough menus available. Wait times for drinks or anything was very long. Finally our food was brought out and the server didn’t know what some of the dishes were. 1 order was completely missing and 3/4 burgers we ordered were burnt to a crisp. Our original server was very polite and professional and comped the burnt burgers and gave us a bottle of champagne to redeem the poor quality of the food.

What to say about this experience...... Well what started as giving a restaurant a chance, on a Friday evening. Turned into hands down 1 of the very best experience we have ever had. Restaurant, and waitress, turn this few moments into a lifetime time experience. Rachel's service was a 50 out of 10.... she not only exceeded all of our expectations, and needs, she made us feel as welcome, and relaxed as we have EVER felt, almost like we were at a family's home just enjoying something they had made for the nights evening of smiles and warmth. To our delight the meal was wordless. Each bite perfectly seasoned to perfection, with love in its making. What a place, that can magically make your day superior. and guys... this is the place for that perfect 1st date, or just to show her you really do care.

Pictures show the Orange Crème brûlée and Garlic Honey Salmon. The brûlée was absolutely divine, 5 stars. So creamy and delicious. The salmon was done very well. Added lemon made it almost sweet. Very well done with how it was prepared. The rest of the plate could have used some attention, which it eventually received. The rice was undercooked, and tinted an orange color from the diced bell peppers that were not supposed to be in there. There was no garlic taste to the garlic rice that was supposed to be there. There was supposed to be a roasted red bell pepper on the plate, didn't happen. The cooks decided that they wanted to put Brussel sprouts on my plate which didn't belong either. View the circled item on the menu picture. You will see why I was frustrated. A restaurant of View 202's status should not be making mistakes like this with a customer's dish. They are one of a few 5 star style restaurants in our area and these shenanigans should not tolerated by their guests. I did speak up to my server, Emily, who then went and got the manager. Their management staff was on point with doing whatever needed to be done to fix the problem. That should not have had to escalate to that point, but their chefs/cooks should be doing what is ordered, not freely doing what they want to do with these dishes. Overall my experience was positive. The atmosphere is pleasant and soothing to dine in. I do highly recommend that reservations be had prior to your arrival. Seating will be limited if you do not. I will be attending this establishment again in the future, hopefully with better results from their cooks.

We paid $285.36 for 3 people for a birthday dinner. The food was good, but not great. The service was adequate. There was absolutely nothing special about this meal... When the Mayor comes to celebrate a birthday......at your restaurant, it's something to be excited about. When the service, decor, ambiance and FOOD ....gain experience, we'll be back. Not until then. You were told , this was to be a magical gift..... So you charged me 300.00???? For what?

Good solid service, great views, beautiful decor, and food that meets expectations. This was literally either the best or close to the best calamari I have eaten. The patio is a great place. If your server is Phillipina and tells you the flan de coco is amazing. Believe her. The best I have ever had.

The atmosphere is modern and wonderful. Indoor and outdoor dining. Our server Lani was fantastic. She was kind and professional. I don't know if it's due to COVID-19 or what but I've taken notice that servers tend to be more attentive and wonderful these days. Rarely now do I come across a bad one, however some stand out above the rest. Lani is one of these in the upper percentile. Our food was prepared with the utmost care. I had the BBQ chicken brick oven pizza, it was clearly fresh and delicious, my GF had the blackened chicken sandwich which was tender, juicy, and had layers of flavor. For dessert she enjoyed the seasonal fruit creme brulee, I tried the coconut flan. I am not a fan of flan, I do try it from time to time, so when I tell you it was amazing, I mean amazing. Absolutely the best dessert I've had in years. On the one hand I wanted it to last forever on the other I couldn't stop taking bite after bite until it was gone. Summary: Clean restaurant with great modern atmosphere, top notch service, top quality dining, and I do believe I may become a regular here. If for nothing more than the amazing desserts. Terrible service. I went there with my wife for a romantic dinner. The wait staff couldn't figure out who was waiting on us, so we had to ask three time for our waiteress. When she did come she was apologetic but admitted this was her first waitress job. As expensive as the meal was (overpriced for the quality) I expected an experienced top notch waiter or waitress. We will not be going back.

Service was terrible. We had to wait even for our ice water. We were not told the soup or salad cost extra. The manager was unaware of the poor service. I mention the poor service to him and he said they were short servers. The server was overwhelmed with two large parties. I never complaint but tonight I speak out, We were charged $14 for the cake I bought in from the outself, even though we served it ourselves. the coffee was cold. I have been to View 202 before, the service was the worst ever. please wake-up and do something about View 202.

McDonalds is better than this place. Last night a friend and I went to have a nice relaxing dinner which turned out to be a nightmare. Had reservation for 7:15 but wasn't seated at our table until 7:45. Ordered our food, my food was cold, presentation was poor at best,no taste to the food, service VERY slow and uninformed. Couldn't understand the server when she was speaking. Had no water at table, no bread with our salad. I have never had ceasar salad with egg and tomatoes and the portion was extremely small for a salad. We ordered desert and OMG it was just awful. My grandchild could have done better. For the quality of food served I would rate it from 1-10 to be a 2. The price of the food was awful and very expencisve. I would not recommend the 202View to any of my friends and will not return under any circumstnces. This places really needs help!!!!!

Having managed restaurants for many years, I find a big problem with View 202 The food is very good. It would be much better served hot. Mother’s day we waited for 35 minutes before anyone came to our table, we finally had to get up to let them know that we had not even been greeted by a server. It took another 20 minutes after that to get water another 30 more for drinks. Our food took forever by the time we were ready to order they ran out of bread. We ended up spending 3 ½ hours to finish our meal, 1 ½ hours was waiting for it to be served. We heard a lot of excuses from the waitress, assistant manager and manager.<br/>We returned for a family meal again on Tuesday, June 20, 2012. Again the waitress had lots of excuses for the very lousy service or the lack of. The meals were tasty but cold, only a few steaks were hot. It took the waitress 20 minutes to get sugar and lemon for the ice tea. Again the waitress was very kind and thankful for us not making a big deal about her slowness. I can only say that there is a problem in the kitchen, lack of training of staff or that there is a management problem. This will pull down this rating of the View 202. This place could be great. But who wants to spend 2 to 3 hours in a restaurant?

View 202. I visited the restaurant with family members on Highschool graduation night 2012. We dined on the patio early, it was not busy at all. The quality of food we ordered was excellent, but the Service was terrible. One night of the week when customers have money in Redding is Friday. Staff your business accordingly. Its too bad , the view is great, but will probably not return because of the service, or lack of it!!

Good food, but overpriced. Dropped $230.00, for five people. Wine was expensive, but mediocre. Charged $36.00 gratuity for so-so service. We had 2 ravioli, a prime rib, lamb and mahi-mahi.
