In the Reading area for a work assignment. Stumbled on this very unassuming place and decided to venture in as I had read a few reviews online the week earlier...sounded nice but def understated in reviews. Upon entering the establishment, all spaces/elements I experienced felt very alive - I knew I found myself a gem, only left to see if the food would be cohesive with the appealing concept of the space. Warm & Classy Contemporary; the colors, music, ambiance, smells, lighting and friendliness of staff...a warm welcome and great smooth jazz playing. Everything perfect, colorful artwork, lovely tables settings, lighting concepts. I believe it may have the owner who sat me and proceeded to get specifics from the chefs as to exact ingredients in the soup of the day, right down to the stock used. Then, greeted by a friendly waitstaff, extremely knowledgeable with the menu and helpful as it was difficult to make a selection. The wine selections for Chardonnay we're all new to me, but as all other aspects of this place we're perfect. I did it up...app, soup, entree' and take home for a full meal w/ the Braised Lamb Shank. Everything ordered was over the top in flavor, (contemporary & comfy food mix) presentation and freshness/integrity of ingredients. A dining experience you must try if anywhere in the area. Walked in with a smile on my face and left with a big smile. A shame I don't live in the area, this would be a regular and certainly a favorite of mine. Hope to make it back before I leave!

Sister restaurant to the historic Speckled Hen. Diverse menu of sides, toast, appetizers, and dinners. Great atmosphere and friendly staff add to the dining experience. Spectacular cocktail menu and decent beer list to lubricate your pallette. Decadent, devious and delicious, the 3Ds of dessert!!! Great spot for a quick bite before a Royals game or a nice dinner.

Plan to spend 2-2.5 hours here for one of the best dinner experiences in the region. The bartender mixes excellent drinks and the food is prepared to perfection. As with any service establishment at this time, the wait staff needs a little practice, but hang in there it is a work in progress. Our young waitress Taylor was working herself silly and in the end we received almost everything despite the salad for dessert. Find me a place with good food and I will show you a place that is understaffed. We need to slow down and be more tolerant of the fact that wait-staff-in-training have missed 2 full years of experience. Thank you for a memorable meal Judy! I can only imagine how difficult this is for you as a chef/owner. The food was topnotch.

Fantastic menu. We had the gluten free pizza. Excellent choice. My wife has celiacs gluten allergy. Great options and knowledgeable staff where this is concerned. The atmosphere is perfect for a date night or a dinner out with friends or family. Great dessert and drink menu. The whole evening was outstanding. Can't wait to go back to Reading and try more of the selections.

Was celebrating my 62 birthday. My husband called to make the reservation more than a week ahead of time. He requested that we sit at the area where they do the cooking. Was told no problem we were in. The night we go we were seated in a booth. When my husband informed the hostess of our reservation she said ohwell this is where you're seated. Not a good start. Our waitress couldn't stay at the table for five seconds so we could place our orders. We were given their standard bread basket (which we really like). We finally finished our meal and get the check which took forever and discovered we were charged for the bread. When we questioned the hostess, who now has an attitude, we're told we have to make a profit somehow. Understandable, but at least let people know so they can make the decision if they want it or not. Needless to say it was a very disappointing birthday dinner and will probably not be going back in the near future. Very disappointed!

Exquisite menu, beautiful atmosphere, excellent service. This is a hidden gem. I’ve have been in the area for about 15 years and the place is located in in cozy corner. I was curious one day and gave it a try. The restaurant is amazing and I recommend it to everyone. Please come visit and support our local business.
