Great place to eat and enjoy a beer. Been a customer for 30 years plus and it never fails to impress. Excellent take out as well.

Pretty decent selection of pies, nice flaky top but would prefer a sturdier base. Tasty filling and an excellent traditional dessert menu.

If you want proper pies with real filling then this is the only place to go. We decided to eat in the little (but spacious) restaurant, after grabbing a nice pint of Harvey's beer from the bar, we sat down and had a cracking pie, chips and gravy. The staff are super friendly and I forgot to take a picture as the pie was too tasty 😋
Edit: Adding a picture from another visit later on.

Love this place. Best pie in town. Also nice for take away and a cozy meal at home.

A wonderful find in Reading! Could not stop smiling. Lovely owners who insist on waiting on you personally, and incredibly friendly wait staff. Food is rich and hot and cozy.

This place is a must visit Reading legend. The pies are sublime either to take away or eat in with some of their ratatouille and washed down with some refreshing ale. Deserts are also hard to resist whether it's treacle tart or rhubarb crumble. It's quiet on Friday lunchtimes so a great time to visit this gem of a place.

Not eaten inside here but always pop in to buy some of the great products they produce. I love the pies and the scotch eggs are wonderful. Well worth the money.

Such a lovely place! Everyone is so sweet and the food is amazing!!! I had a pie with lamb and mint. If I get a chance to be in the UK again, I would definitely come here again and order the same thing.

It's definitely a place of its time. Went there for an older colleagues birthday get together. The pies are amazing and have lots of flavour. Be aware though, you might find the pie you want might not be on that day. Though they usually have a good selection. I got boar and venison. The chips could of been cooked a bit longer.
The staff are minimal but very friendly and lovely. They have a bar with some range of drinks. They do have puddings but again you have to check what they have on.
All in all, it's a nice place to go for a pie and a pint with your mates. However, probably not a place I would go on date or on a regular basis.

Best pies in Reading! Has a lot of history, and the grandma who read the menu was awesome. A family run business that continues to deliver. Incredible place to go if you want pies, unbelievable selection may I not say.
