My favorite seafood place to visit when I’m in the Boston area. Some of the freshest and perfectly fried seafood I’ve had. A true hole in the wall gem.

Four stars for great tasty seafood at an inexpensive price, not for ambiance. Fred's Seafood is a local "hole in the wall" in a very good sense. Great fresh fried seafood in addition to fresh seafood market. I had a fried clam and scallop plate ($17) and my wife had fish & chips ($7.65). I highly recommend Fred's for anyone wanting great fresh fried seafood at a more than reasonable price. Chowder, lobster bisque, lobster rolls in two sizes also available.

Fred's has always had the best fried seafood , fresh fish and the lobster bisque and chowders are awesome! I wish Fred and family a Happy retirement and my family will surely miss the Great food!

This was my first time going to Fred's Seafood. The Haddock Dinner was SO fresh with 2 nice pieces. I opted for the onion rings which were hand cut and really good. My boyfriend got fries with his. Fries could have been cooked longer..other than that YUMMY!! The cost (with no extra charge for onion rings) was 8.35 for Haddock & Chips, more than plentiful! Okay, this is a hole in the wall establishment so don't be surprised. Only 6 tables to sit at but at 5pm that was not an issue for us, plenty of seating. Ordered at the register, paid and that was it! VERY good and will be going there again. Can't beat the price and portions.

Fred's has been an institution in my life. Hands down the best and freshest fried seafood anywhere. Prices are amazing especially for what you get. Go, you will come back.

I tried calling several times but line was busy each time but when I got there a guy was cleaning and cutting up a fish and someone in the back. With COVID I should have been able to just go in the pick up order and hang around in the restaurant. Other than that it was alright.
