Great caring people and very good food! Owner is on site making sure it is a very good experience for the customers. If haven’t been to the restaurant, you need to try it!
So I gotta say I liked this place overall. The good: fish was super fresh and the portions generous. Now for all ya'll sushi snobs this ain't for you. Lots of American style rolls; but still yummy:). We had several. My fav was The Protein Roll; filled with fish. My least fav was the Garlic Roll. Too overpowering. Service was odd. It seemed like we had 4 different servers and none of them knew what the others had asked or offered us. Average roll was $15 but well worth it. I'll be going back!
New owners, new chefs, new atmosphere. The food has improved dramatically and is very good - both sushi and cooked food. Good portions great staff. A much better restaurant now.
Little Touch of Japan in the Desert. Having lived in Japan, this place is very traditional. The sushi/sashimi isn't flashy, but it's good, and prepared by a master. The real charm of this place is it's preparation of Entrees.. the Kazu, Teriyaki, & Don are all good. It's location is small, but that's part of the character of this place. Try the Banana Tempura w Mango Ice Cream for a real treat.
It had been a few years since we came here and now have no idea why we waited so long. The Firebird Champion Roll was delicious. Also, a robot serves you! The music they played was great. We will be back!
I ordered many things for dinner: tonkatsue ramen, tempera udon, Joyce's sushi combo, soft shell crab, and croquettes. The ramen and udon were huge. The ramen actually comes with an entire fried pork chop, usually tonkatsue refers to the soup broth but this was a great surprise. The tempura udon comes with 3 fried shrimp, another great addition. Each of the noodles were very large portions and the flavors were good. The best dish was the sushi combo. Everything was fresh and tasted great. The sushi was fresh and the rolls were large. If you take a look at the posted pictures you can see the California rolls were large with lots of filling, good rich flavor filling, not thin dry filling like some other restaurants I've had in the past. I chose the shrimp tempura roll for the combo and it was thick and crunchy, just tasted great. However, not everything was great. I ordered the jumbo soft shell crab. First, the size was not jumbo, but the price was at $18. Not worth the price. It was very very over cooked, perhaps that's why it was smaller because it shrank from overcooking. I have to say it was crispy, but that's all it was, just all crisp and no crab flavor. A good softshell crab should be lightly battered, fried just enough where the insides are cooked but juicy and the outside is still crispy. Also the sauce included should be slightly sour with a hint of soy sauce, I know this may seem picky, but come on this one side dish was $18, I get to be a little picky. The customer service was nice and attentive, very good. The overall experience was nice and the food was good, just don't order the soft shell crab, put the $18 on a roll, it will be a much better value.
STOP HERE! This place is outstanding!
Ivan was our Sushi 🍣 chef. Absolutely outstanding. Service, food, presentation was phenomenal.
Sushi was absolutely fresh. Prices are what you expect for the quality you desire. Exceeded expectations for the desert.
Rancho Mirage is where it’s at.
We walked in here not knowing what to expect but we were so pleased with what we found. The employees are friendly and make you feel welcome, the restaurant itself is comfortable and very pretty, and the food was out of this world. Presentation was top notch. They served our sashimi in a dang sea shell. Beautiful place, would definitely recommend.
A very pleasant surprise on the way to LA. The food is of high quality, delicious and authentic. Teppanyaki Unagi (fresh water eel) is highly recommended, and it will pair really well with sake 😉👌. Great service and lovely atmosphere.

GREAT meal with friends today. We were blown away by the service, the rolls, sashimi and atmosphere. Cool spot. Quality food. Great local business.
They have the best sushi in the valley. I use to eat here once a week but since covid they doubled their prices. Now it's only for a special meal. Definitely check it out
Amazing sushi! Will be back. Fish is amazing quality! Melts in your mouth. Our kids even loved the sushi!
The food quality is probably the best in the valley!
Place is ALWAYS packed. Staff and quality are why we go. The interior is very small, very cramped and very dated. But it’s about the food and service not the Disneyland props.
We were visiting the area for a conference and stopped by with our group of 6. We were all blown away by the savoriness, service, and presentation of the appetizers and rolls we got. We all got different rolls and tried each others and couldn’t stop saying YUMMM. The ambience was intimate and peaceful!
It was so good we had to come back again before leaving!!
