The State

The State was a excellent find. It reminded us of a joint in San Antonio, TX. If I was in a drinking mood, I definitely would have ordered some drinks, considering their wall is filled with various Scotch, Whiskey, Tequila. The State is well designed and set up especially if your scared of being next to other people. The tables are well spaced that create such an openness for the entire restaurant. They welcome all size parties for those interested. The food itself was delicious. The Hamburgers come with Salads and you have to pay extra to switch from a salad to fries (this contributes to why the rating is such). Never been to a place where it cost extra to switch. My wife ordered Well-Done and get Medium-We’ll. She doesn’t eat anything unless it’s fully cooked and hates returning food, so she ate the edges. Such a nice establishment would provide the right food. I myself will eat anything and got the Bar-B-Que burger which came with bacon and onion rings. The burger was huge but wasn’t hard to eat and very delicious! Customer service was excellent and our waitress was awesome throughout the entire visit.

The wait times weren't too bad. We got a seat outside and they had some outdoor heaters along the patio which was really nice since it was cold out. Our waitress was very friendly, the food was out quick, and everything tasted delicious! We ordered bruschetta, lobster mac n cheese, and bourbon BBQ burger.

We ordered braised short rib and short rib tacos as entrees. They were really good the braised short rib was one of the really good ones! We also ordered mac and cheese and bruschetta as starter they were good nothing exceptional. We also ordered two drinks as well, they were good . I recommend this place for sure

Great location for socializing drinking dining in and people watching.The wait was long and typical for a Friday night but we managed to find seating at the bar. Bartenders were friendly and attentive. We ordered whisky sour vodka soda water The state salad and bacon burger with fried egg sunny side up and side of onion rings. The burger fries onion rings were exquisite. Mere perfection. The salad I ordered with chicken breast did not come with chicken and I had to wait 20-30 minutes before it came. That was disappointing but the bartender made up for it and gave us another round of drinks for free so that was nice! Overall a good experience minus the wait for my chicken.

The service started very slow. We had to ask a couple of times for my hubby's drink ( vodka cranberry) after that, things went smoothly. The Putin was soo good as were the dates. My drink; girl next door, was very good. If I'm in the area I will stop by again. Btw we got there around 3ish during happy hour.

I love the State from when they first opening to now. They have a really cool open dining room that has a feeling like you’re outside. I love love their drinks I had a $25 Mezcal drink that I’m still thinking about today and I had it a week ago. I think the food is solid and you can’t go wrong with a poutine fries. I also heard they had a speakeasy also that’s kind of cool right.
