I love this place. You must try the Caffe Voltaire (hot chocolate and espresso). And the pepperoni pizza pocket. The green eggs and ham is also a very tasty breakfast. And the reuben pocket is very good. Plus, the have great strawberry/banana, mango, and blackberry brain freeze (smoothie). The service is always great. Nothing better than great food and great customer friendly service.

Awesome coffee! The outside seating is very nice, a great place to relax with a good cup of coffee. The trainwrecks do a great job of balancing sweeteners with the delicious coffee. I don't recommend the breakfast sandwiches though as mine was sloppy and bland.

This place is definitely one worth trying. It's not like a typical chain coffee shop and has its own unique vibe. The coffee was warm and delicious. They have several methods of coffee prep to choose from and a variety of specialty drinks that may be lost on some people, but my husband and I thought it was pretty cool to have so many options to choose from. If you're a fan of giant cups of coffee - this place is a great deal! It has its own parking lot, which is a plus for downtown, but it was still a little tricky to get in and out of.

One of the BEST coffee shops around. Period. Nothing fancy, but DANG good coffee. Prices are reasonable and they always have specials. Good breakfast and lunch spot to. Been one of my go-to's for years!

Great college coffee shop. Just as one would expect and want to. The coffee itself is delicious. The prices are reasonable with lots of drink options. A selection of pastries and sandwiches as well.

Amazing coffee- I haven't found a better brew in Raleigh yet. They have a million styles of beans to try from around the world. The place is kinda grungy, and sometimes the staff are pushy, but that's the vibe. The coffee is definitely worth looking past that.

Only come to Raleigh once or twice a month. Whenever I do I come here for coffee. I like it stronger and like to do a pour over... their drip comes pretty close. Guy somehow remembers me and my order and has it ready for me on the spot when I walk through the door. Love this place!

Their coffee is really good. They roast beans inside and you can watch when they are doing it. The pastries are always fresh and taste fantastic. Atmosphere is great for focusing and getting work done. Each time I have been there the place is full so that should tell you something. They make a great latte also! Staff is very friendly and down to earth.

I was working in the area and the smell drew me in. I normally have my own coffee made at home from the fresh market but this stuff they serve here is amazing. The bold aroma was well matched by the flavor, I will definitely be returning to this wonderful place. I can't wait to see what it's like when fully opened.

Great outside atmosphere, good coffee, and enjoyable pastries. I usually end up staying for hours and watching the world go by, as the regular patrons are friendly and non-interfering. The register can be a bit awkward at times due to their ordering process, but this is a minor complaint.

Ive enjoyed great coffee and breakfast/lunch since 1997. A local treasured place for great coffee hot or cold. Owner has been the same since opening and you usually find him at 1 of the 2 locations. The coffee is also great to bring home! If you want to catch a movie at the Avent Ferry location I think you can still take their coffee into the movie. Must stop there- they have more than just coffee to drink; fruity/icy drinks also I just prefer the coffee ones.
