The shrimp had good flavor although not as wild caught as I’ve had elsewhere. The grits were delicious. Creamy and fluffy, not wet, with coarse grind. Just the way I like them. I prefer not to have tomatoes and mushrooms in my shrimp and grits but they did not take away from the experience by much. My wife had the shrimp scampi. The bread was very good. My son had a grilled cheese, which was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside.

Cape Fear Seafood Company located at 832 Spring Forest Rd, Raleigh, NC 27609 is an excellent Seafood Restaurant! I got the Snow Crab legs combined with fried Shrimp, Scallops, and a crab cake. The Scallops were my by far favorite / they were spectacular! Perfectly cooked with a very good batter and they were sweet!!! The Gulf Jumbo Shrimp I found were ok, not sweet, which was a bit of a disappointment to me. Crab cake was good too, not great. The crab legs were on the thin side, not very meaty. I added some of their old bay spice which was delicious! The Chocolate mousse was good too. Try the Blueberry cobbler as it looked great. All in all it was a very good meal. I’d go for the Fried Scallops alone next time. Server/Bartender Jamilla was great!!!

The seafood dishes were extremely fresh and tasty. We waited for awhile to get service at first. There was no host or hostess when we came in. However the food made up for that. Will definitely eat here again.

I came here during lunch on Thursday because the $6 margaritas got me lol. Parking lot is small so good luck on finding parking. I sat at the bar and ordered the hibiscus margarita and the salmon cake with fettuccine pasta the lunch portion. I also ordered the watermelon margarita as well. The pasta was good and filling for me, at least. The bartender was nice and attentive. The restaurant looks spacious and I can see it getting busy on a weekend night. I’ll have to go back again and try something different and get another margarita.

The food was quite tasty!! I came here for a private event & this place is great for a celebration!! They have quite a bit of private gathering space. The salmon & crab + key lime pie were my favorites!! (I ate the pie too fast to get a better pic!)

I was recommended by my niece, so since I was in Raleigh I’d give it a try. We were greeted and sat right away. Our waitress was friendly and attentive at first, once our food arrived she never came back to refill our drinks. The hostess or manager I’m not sure which he was , repeatedly came by to ask if we needed anything and refilled our drinks. The food tasted just ok and the portions were rather small, I didn’t feel full after finishing my plate.

We decided to try a new place and this place won and I'm happy it did. Pleasantly greeted and seated and presented with menus loaded with great seafood specialties. We ordered hushpupies as appetizers and man, were they good. I ordered fried shrimp which were lighty breaded, reminiscent of Calabash fried shrimp. My wife had the lunch portion of shrimp and grits. She said it was excellent. So the food and service were superb and the check was very reasonable for the quantity and quality of the food. Highly recommend you give this restaurant a try.

Awesome service, could have used a lil more clam strip, the shrimp were tiny, the potatoes were great. All in the food was great! The Sound drink was awesome

Fantastic food and staff! The restaurant was simple but nice, the waiter was very friendly and the food was amazing! It’s a rare occurrence when everything from the appetizer all the way to the dessert taste amazing. Highly recommend and will be coming back.

First time at Cape fear. Took my wife out for her birthday. We got the crab scampi risotto appetizer wow... it was amazingly good. Her favorite seafood dish is shrimp and grits. She has declared this place as the best she's ever had. I got a shrimp plate w roasted potatoes very good. We had the Expresso brownie sundae for dessert that was awesome. Our waiter Sam was very professional and personable. We rank our restaurants as memorable good, bad or just ok. Definitely a memorable good experience. So glad we heard of this place from our son. We'll be back for sure.
