Review Jimmy V's Osteria + Bar - Raleigh

Since I am staying at the hotel, this restaurant and bar are very convenient for me. The service was excellent! That combination omelet was delicious!! The price of the meal was very reasonable.

We liked it .. service was good .. staff attentive .. excellent meatballs and spaghetti .. we would return.

We enjoyed our dinner. You could tell it was a slow evening. Our steaks were over cooked. I’m glad the server recommended other sides but if you recommend a temp on the steak it should be cooked at that temperature. It was an ok experience. I do not believe we are the ideal audience. Please give it a try you may love it.

My first time eating here and at first the experience wasn't good. The host took forever to seat us, the host didn't actually seat us a server did. Before then multiple servers just walked right past us as if they didn't see us. A line started to form and a lady behind us went to go look for someone. Its like we were just being ignored, so that was frustrating and rude at first. The food made up for it. I got ravioli with corn, bacon and smoked chicken. It also had some other things. It was really really good. Very spacious and our server was good.

We decided to stop here for an early dinner because we saw the menu outside with a gluten free pizza option that looked delicious. We sat out on the patio with our dog and each had a beer. The patio is completely covered and had a nice breeze coming from inside the restaurant, which helped on this really hot day. I ordered an Omission beer, which is gluten reduced. I was happy to see that they had a few gluten free/gluten reduced options for me to choose from. The pizza we so fell in love with and wanted to try (Funky Pizza) was apparently not available for another 30 minutes until their dinner hour started. So instead we ordered the Three Cheese White pizza and added mushrooms. However, when it came out the crust looked much too fluffy to be gluten free (the first pizza picture). The server had disappeared, so I had to go back in to find her. When I asked her if the pizza was actually gluten free, even though it was labeled as "V" & "GF" she told me it wasn't unless I specifically asked. She was quick to get another pizza ordered for us that was actually gluten free (the second pizza pictured). But as someone who's been in the service industry for over 20 years, if I see someone order a drink that's specifically gluten free, I always inquire as to whether their meal needs to be as well. Apparently, that's not common practice here and you have to be extra clear and specify everything. A little disappointing for 2 people who've been in the industry for so long because it should just be common sense. Either way, the pizza itself was really good and the atmosphere was nice. We'll probably go back again in the future. But now we know that we have to clarify everything before ordering with them.

We had our rehearsal dinner at Jimmy V’s and they did a fantastic job. The food was great, they were super accommodating, and Trevor and Marissa were awesome servers, and Chase went above and beyond communicating and helping organize everything. Absolutely recommend grabbing dinner here or organizing an event with them!

We stayed at the Sheraton for the evening and came here for lunch and cocktails the next day. The place had a great atmosphere. Loved being able to see the open kitchen and wood fire pizzas cooking! We sat at the bar. Our bartenders and everyone else working there, were exceptionally friendly. The service was on time. I had the steak salad, which was good. My friend had a pizza, which was also good. Honestly, we expected the food to be much better. Portions are really large so it's a trade off, I guess. Perhaps if I'd partaken of more of the great beer selection I'd have enjoyed the food more!

Recommended When in downtown Raleigh eat here. The staff was friendly and efficient. The kitchen was prompt and accurately filled our order. The food was served to all of our 10 person party at the same time and all the dishes were perfectly prepared. Prices are affordable. The atmosphere of the restaurant is pleasant and our conversations could be easily shared across the table.

We love the food and people at Jimmy V’s! We came every day of our stay in Raleigh & had the great pleasure of having Brook as our waitress! She was there morning & night and was always so friendly, helpful and fun to chat with. She added a lot of happiness to our meals. The iced tea, pizza, salads, and everything we ordered were delicious but the bruschetta & pasta Alfredo were beyond excellent! Chef Dustin is a genius. It’s hard to make Alfredo sauce just right - not too thick & clumpy but not too thin or runny. Dustin nailed it! My brother-in-law who is an Italian cuisine chef thought Dustin’s pasta Alfredo was perfect. The bruschetta blew our minds - it was so good! We are going to try to make it for our Thanksgiving appetizer but it won’t be as great as Dustin’s! We’ll try though. Thank you Brook & Dustin and Dominic for being so fantastic at your work & so friendly.

My mother and I attended their Thanksgiving Buffet Special for tonight and it was unbelievably good. The wait staff were very attentive, kind, and seemed genuinely glad to have us there. Much appreciated. It's not easy working on the holidays. ❤️ Also, the food itself was down right delicious. Thank you Jimmy Vs for being our Home away from Home this year for Thanksgiving.

Great vibes... The service was great..the staff was pleasant and smiled..always a plus.. the old fashioned I got was made perfectly. Food was good. Asparagus ..perfect. turkey wrap was a little messy but good. Id recommend advacado slices instead of guac.insode the turkey wrap...

So enjoy this place when in Raleigh! Can't beat their apps, service and our bartender makes the best dirty martinis🍸Also enjoyed a yum breakfast with made to order omlettes 🙌

Pleasantly surprised. After staying at the Sheraton and having a bad experience, I wasn’t excited about having linch at the adjacent restaurant. So happy we did. Very good!!! Full of southern flavor. Adorable space, bright and airy. The service was fair. Definitely suggest for a quick lunch.

Well set up eatery and bar. We ate on a Monday night at 9:00PM but the bar area was pretty busy. Food was good and well prepared. Theme of bar was cute executed well. Nestled in a great area of downtown Raleigh that could provide a great date night spot on the weekend.

I know this is blasphemy in Raleigh but my first experience with Jimmy V's is quite likely my last. I will just contribute to the V Foundation directly. Stopped in Sunday before Artsplosure thinking a nice Bloody Mary and brunch would be in order. We ordered three and got three pint glasses with Zing Zang, maybe some vodka, and absolutely no garnish of any kind. Took twenty minutes to get our food order taken and after giving up on getting an oyster bar menu we ordered from the brunch menu. I've had more appetizing presentation and food at Waffle House. All we got from our waiter and the manager were excuses and finger pointing. Sorry Jimmy but I think on this place I will "give up".

Some of the worse service I have ever had. Not busy at all and took 30 minutes to get a drink, and at that point waiter still didn't take our order. Food mediocre at best.

Menu did not have a lot of choices for a dinner menu. No vegetarian dishes. My brother in law had to piece together a meal. My wife ordered a salad and when it was delivered it was not what was on the menu.

Great food and atmosphere. Rick was a wonderful server and made sure we had a great experience. Will recommend it to my local friends

After Wakefield High (8 a.m.) commencement, graduates & family members went here for post graduation meal.. The breakfast bar & service was excellent. Will definitely return.

Jimmy V's is great! It's a cute spot with great staff. I went two days in a row and Jessica A. remembered my drink requests as if I was a regular. Loved her service: a combination of friendliness, attentiveness, and graciousness. I don't know the breakfast cook's name, but my omelet was one of the best I've ever had. Everything was delicious. Happy camper here. Too bad I live in California. Too far away to visit more often!

I have been curious about Jimmy V"s for years, but have never visited til tonight. Very pleased. Dark brick and hard wood floors hive a nice atmosphere. Staff was attentive, food was good, bar was well stocked. Will return.

First of all, it was the friendliest place my husband and I have been in awhile from the sweet hostess with a cat ear headband to our server, Stephen, to Kim, the Manger I spoke with after our delightful experience. The service was impeccable. The food a drink delicious. The whole experience was awesome. We will be back.

I was just here after the St Patrick's day parade and ordered a couple of pizzas that were amazing and when I went to pay I realized I dropped my wallet at some point. Kelly was amazing and took care of our check. I'm so grateful that she was such an angel in an awful situation. Thank you so much Kelly!

The staff at Jimmy V's was unbelievably impressive. Had the amazing privilege to see where they grew some of their freshly-grown ingredients which was a truly wonderful experience. I will 100% be going back. 10/10 would definitely recommend for anyone!

Service was slow and not friendly. but the food is amazing (especially the butternut squash ravioli w/grilled shrimp) and bartenders very friendly.

We had a party of 14 including 4 kids who had quite a bit of ice cream yesterday for our Father's Day dinner ! Our waitress Kendra was amazing very patient and she provided just all around good service. Also the manager a lady with red hair I cannot remember her name was amazing as well! Thank you all so much!

Great food, great service. Smoked chicken ravioli was awesome. Crab dip a must.
