What a wonderful time we had! The story of an establishment plus the quality of the food and the service create the experience. Once we crossed the threshold into ORO it felt like we were in a restaurant we would find in a much larger and more metropolitan city. The menu was diverse, food was original takes on several Caribbean staples. The drinks were creative to say the least, take a peak at our pics. 🤣. We have the roasted brussel sprouts and normally I don’t indulge but these were emanating umami and were so flavorful. The jerk chicken and its flavoring was reminiscent of the classic flavor but enough to make it stand out. The roasted duck was different for us. It was a new experience but not our favorite, I could not get over the style of preparation, well done on the exterior bit purplish in the internal parts. It was juicy and flavorful just was not my favorite. It was presented nicely and sliced in tender pieces, I can imaging those accustomed to duck know this preparation method. Our server was truly the third arm of the experience. He welcomed us, told us the story of the establishment, provided us with a complementary app and a complementary drink, just to allow us to try two new things. We will be back, this was a good overall experience and we will be back and recommend giving it a try, worked out for a date night or business meeting location.

We had a fantastic experience at Oro, Megan our waiters was excellent, we were never in need of anything. They explained clearly the menu was similar to tapas, so it was easily understood there would be smaller portions. The tuna was flavored very well and the chilies add a nice kick to it. The duck pasta with multiple types of mushrooms was out of this world, such a umami flavor bomb. The truffle Mac and fingerling potatoes had great flavors and fried prosciutto was a nice touch on the potatoes. I will definitely be coming back to try other dishes.

Came here for girls nights and was not disappointed. The atmosphere is amazing and so was the customer service. Food may take a while to prepare if it’s busy so I would recommend getting an appetizer and drinks while you wait. Also, make sure you know where you park is okay (don’t want to get a ticket from the city) !! Overall, food was great and would recommend ORO.

Great way to end our conference experience in Raleigh! Thankful for the staff for seating such a big party on a short notice. We decided to go with the family style dinner where they brought out just about the whole menu for everyone to try. I had the we found wonderland drink and it was presented beautifully ! The flavor was amazing! There were too many dishes to keep up with but the macaroni & cheese, Brussels sprouts and steak were my favorite. My second drink was the babe in the city which came in w cute pig cup. We ended this experience with s’mores🍫

This is our second time at Oro and, unfortunately, we did not rate it the first time and that’s our bad. The first time was for my birthday and it exceptional. This time was for our anniversary and it was exceptional, once again. We sat at the bar and Hunter was off the charts as far as service, recommendations, and taking care of us in general. His cocktails were beyond compare. The meal was fabulous. We started with the scallion noodles and moved on to the duck breast and confit potatoes. From there we had the octopus. If we were not feeling totally satiated, we would’ve ordered the Seabass or osso Buco. Dessert was the banana bread pudding that was to die for. There’s always next time. There’s so many delicious things on the menu you cannot go wrong with any of it. The atmosphere is extremely appealing, very contemporary. We would recommend a ORO to anyone and we will definitely be back. Thank you Hunter and we hope to find seats at the bar our next time in.

Oro is a great date night location in Raleigh. The restaurant is bright and open with a nice upstairs balcony. The food is primarily small plates. We tried "The One with Tequila" and "Don't Blow It" cocktails which were both quite good. For small plates we had the Golden Beet Salad, Wok Fried Brussels, Truffle Mac & Cheese, Charred Scallion Noodles, Cast Iron Picanha and Grilled Jerk Chicken. The Grilled Jerk Chicken was the best jerk I have tasted and the Charred Scallion Noodles were a second favorite. The red wine chimichurri on the Cast Iron Picanha was a nice creative take on chimichurri but I think I would skip it next time and get another Jerk Chicken. We ended the meal with their show stopper Chocolate Dome which is incredibly rich - we could only eat a few bites each which worked out great splitting it four ways.

A definite must for a late dinner downtown Raleigh. Very modern trendy interior. They have a great cocktail bar. I came for the roasted oysters super yum and avocado salad. My server was efficient and personable.

Corey, our server, was amazing! So accommodating, attentive and funny! We tried multiple dishes and most were amazing!! 10/10 recommend the Osso Buco. We got the Mac and cheese for our baby, also yummy! The grilled octopus had great flavor, Brussels sprouts were great. The steak was the only thing we weren’t super impressed by. Also the Crème Brûlée is a must try. The chocolate brownie was yummy, especially if you like dark chocolate. Service was fast and food was great!

I chose Oro for my birthday dinner and was not disappointed. All of the food was great. The truffle mac and cheese blew us away. We followed that with the braised oxtail which was also delicious. Then we also had the coconut curry lobster tail and wok fried Brussels. Both of these were full of great flavor. The servings seem small but if you follow the chef's recommended 2 dishes per person, it will leave you satisfied. Hope to visit again.

My son and I decided to visit Oro restaurant during Raleigh Restaurant Week in November 2021. We read good reviews and liked the menu that was being offered. We made reservations and were seated quickly upon arrival. We were greeted with a smile and professionalism. Our server was friendly and fully engaged with our experience at the restaurant. Our dishes were served in a timely manner. We enjoyed our food and dessert. Everything was very tasty and moist. The portions were a little on the smaller side but other than that we had a wonderful visit.
