Review Iris At Nc Museum Of Art - Raleigh

A sophisticated atmosphere for exceptional food and service. Try the caramel-topped bourbon custard for dessert and visit the galleries and gift shop afterwards. A stroll through the museum grounds is fantastic on a nice day.

Great service, personable waitress. Recommend reservations, which went smoothly and professionally. Very nice, swankey atmosphere. Food is excellent. Pricey. Indoors only.

Very nice museum, dont come near closing time though or the guards will be on your butt from 20 minutes before closing till you leave.

I was not in Iris but I walked by while I was visiting the museum. It looked amazing. The piece of art on the wall is very impressive.

If you are looking for somewhere classy and innovative then look no further! Iris, dear restaurant attached to the North Carolina museum of art, is a beautiful atmosphere with swirling a sculpture on the walls and beautiful natural light. It does not feel overcrowded although there is enough space for a party of 16. All of the servers are very professional and helpful by guiding you on the menu. They have lots of options for people who are on special diet's, like folks who do not eat gluten or R vegan. It's nice to have an option after walking around the grounds or the museum itself to feed yourself or your family. The food is absolutely delicious and obviously crafted by someone with culinary Expertise. There are so many of flavors that go into each dish and they are plated beautiful I like the plates are pieces of art themselves. It is a great place to go for brunch on Saturday and Sunday, but I highly suggest you call and make a reservation or hold a table because it can get very busy. I give this place 5 stars and highly suggest it to anyone who is intrested and a lovely dining experience. The high ceilings really give the place an air of luxury and contribute to the culture that you might find in the Room. The options for drinks are wonderful and your server well pair them with your dish with ease. I enjoy that they have fresh juices and coffee options as well. Everything is so nice looking and a semi formal it is a great place to go on a date as well!

Portions are a bit larger than my family was able to handle but service, atmosphere, and taste were great!

The menu was not extensive, but each item on it was made with an unusual ingredient or two. We ordered the scallops and the open-face turkey sandwich and we split a butterscotch blondie for dessert. All three choices were absolutely delicious. In fact, we only ordered the dessert because the entrees were so good - we almost never order dessert but we just felt sure they must make great desserts too! And it was as good as anticipated.

Delicious food! I felt very fancy dining at the museum! Not a huge menu but unique offerings. A little pricey so we don't eat there often. Definitely make reservations if you go - they are always busy.

Very much enjoyed meal here. Interesting options, friendly service. My father is a vegetarian and he found his meal satisfying. The negative is that it is loud in the restaurant. Great place to eat before, after or in the middle of your exploration of the museum.

A prefect place for a light lunch or tasty brunch on the weekends. Dishes are made to order from fresh ingredients. They have plenty of vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options. Because they are open any a couple of hours for lunch things get busy right off the bat. Large parties are well taken care of just like tables for two. The menu rotates with the seasons so there is always something new to try. Planning a bite to eat here while visiting the museum will not disappoint.

Made reservations ahead of time. This is probably a good idea when going here during a popular exhibit. It is a small area to eat and enjoy seeing art. It is a bit loud at times and it is close quarters for seating. The food was delicious! I went during brunch so got the grit and eggs bowl with pico, Oaxaca cheese, black beans and spring onions. It was a nice portion to feel full but not overstuffed and needing to take food home. Would go again and get that item again. Staff were on top of things. Only disappointed that they don't use recyclable to go boxes, but use plastic. I hope they change that.

Inside the NC Museum of Art. Have eaten there a few times now. Consistently good food. Service good. Had plus of not being in any hurry but service was good. Right next to gift shop. Between food, gift shop, and collections always an enjoyable experience, plus outside is also very pleasant addition.

Elegant and modern. My favorite time to go is for brunch or dessert rather than dinner, although I have never had a bad dinner here either. I just like brunch. It is the perfect place to go for a romantic date. Go when you have at least an hour to spend in the museum and another hour (or more) to have leisurely meal at Iris. It gets a little loud if there are a lot of people dining or they are hosting an event.

LOVE this place! Great ambiance. Food is very nicely done. Perfect place for brunch or lunch, ideal to meet up with a friend, even if you don't plan to tour the museum much. During exhibit times make reservations!

Took my fiance here for valentines day lunch. Was a great touch after spending a day exploring the galleries. The atmosphere here is a very modern touch and flows with the rest of the museum. It almost feels as though you are still walking around admiring all the art while enjoying a phenomenal meal. Our waitress was very informative and helped up make the right decision. She also did a great job taking care of us despite how busy they were. My glass never dropped below a fourth. Now the food was amazingly well prepared and looked splendid to I almost didn't want to eat it because of how good it looked but i'm glad I did. Sense then I make sure to stop there every time I go to the museum.

Delicious brunch at a great and FREE museum. The huevos rancheros were a delight. Unfortunately, while I could tell it was not the case with every waitperson, mine was inattentive at best. I'm not sure if it was because I was here by myself or for some other reason, but my waitperson spoke to me only twice, and very shortly. As I said, the food was all wonderful, and i could tell other staff had a better attitude.
