This is a review for a restaurant called Winston's Grille located in Raleigh, North Carolina. They are open Monday through Thursday from 11 am until 10 pm and on Friday they stay open an additional hour. Saturday they don't open until 5 pm and Sunday they open at 10 am and close at 9:30 pm. Their health score is 99 which is excellent. We arrived around 1 pm on a Sunday and it was very crowded. Read the rest of my review on my blog, link below.
Way up in N. Raleigh off of Falls of Neuse Road lies Winston’s Grille. Located in a busy shopping plaza, Winston’s Grille has been serving the N. Raleigh community for 30 years now! A local favorite for first dates and special occasions, I received an invite to check out Winston’s and learn what makes it so special. So on a busy Wednesday night I headed on over to see what has kept this Raleigh stand-by popular for more than three decades.
Great food and a pleasant staff.... We had not been to Winston's in more than 10 years. It will not be that long before we go back. The food was great, the atmosphere was comfortable and inviting and the staff was very helpful. We enjoyed the ribs and the bacon wrapped filet. Very tasty and done just right! Looks like a great place for a special event too!. Highly recommended!
Consistently great food, service, and value. In my mind, there isn't a better American grill in Raleigh. We've eaten at Winston's many times, and the food and service are great. And what you get for your money is even better. They have better food than most places that charge double. You can even get away with eating at Chili's level prices, if you order that type of food: burgers, sandwiches, wraps, etc. Is the food inventive or something a foodie would die for? Probably not. But if you want an excellent mid-to-upscale dining experience at mid prices, this is your place.
Seahawk Dude. We get to Raleigh from the coast 8-10 times a year. We make it a point to have dinner at Winston's Grille. My wife will often order their prime rib 'Winston's Prime Rib'...she swears by it....I often order the Winston's London Broil - it is to eat great steak- at an unbelievably great price....)plus, my wife can never finish the large prime rib), so naturally, I try to help where I can. Superb dining! Warm, friendly, upscale ambiance but at very modest prices. Winston's Grille? Can't miss!
Limited menu but tasty. Very nice meal here - both the food and the service were very good. The tuna sandwich was perfectly prepared. Ribs were very good.
Wish they had a bit more selection on their menu.
Wonderful lunch! Moderately priced but well worth it. Try the homemade chips. Salads are great. Service was excellent. As we walked through, everyone spoke to us as we arrived and left the establishment.
Great Atmosphere, good food. My girlfriend and I went to Winston's to celebrate our first anniversary. The atmosphere was amazing. The restaurant looks very well put together and more upscale than I expected. We got the Carolina crab dip for an appetizer and it was so tasty. I got the London Broil for my entree, and my girlfriend got the shrimp pasta. Both entrees were very well cooked. Also, our waitress, Catalina, did a great job of checking on us constantly even though we were sitting outside on the beautiful porch they have.
Winston's will be a favorite stop from this point on. We were greeted by the friendliest employees that I have seen in NC. Jane, our waitress was friendly, loved here job and was a credit to here profession. I had the scallops and they were delicious. The vegetables were a healthy bonus: lightly cooked and a large variety. I will order that again some day. My wife had the scampy on noodles and she liked her food as much as I liked mine. I ordered Bananas Foster for dessert. It was the best that I have ever had. It was two scoops of vanilla covered with a puff pastry, surrounded by bananas with the sauce drizzled over it all. It was so good that my wife stole half of it. (She was too full to order dessert before) Excellent and friendly service, great food and a beautiful restaurant, makes this one of my favorites.
Delicious food and great service.
You will definitely want to make a reservation because this is a very popular restaurant.
The quality of the food was exceptional and to be honest, the food was less expensive than I thought it would be.
The dip was delicious, and my only complaint was that there should have been more of it 😋. The ribs were so tender and flavorful. My husband enjoyed his pasta dish as well.
The atmosphere was classy but not stuffy. Our server was friendly and made some great recommendations.
We will go back soon!

Winston’s is a reliable place to get a good quality meal. They have great desserts if you are celebrating a special occasion. The only problem I have ever had was meat being slightly over cooked to temp (medium-well rather than medium for instance). However, they have a professional wait staff and I never worry about getting a delicious meal while I’m there. They are also accommodating to children.
I have lived in the area for years and honestly, it was until this year that I went there and I just realized what I have been missing. The atmosphere is great, really nice place to go with family, friends, on a date, and even by yourself. They have a great bar area section. The service was great, our server was super friendly and efficient. The food took a bit to get to the table, granted, the place was packed, despite that small inconvenience, the food was great! Yes, I have seen some comments about "price of food" but remember, you are paying for quality food as well as a nice atmosphere, and like any other place due to inflation, they have gone up on pricing. The food was great! Highly recommend it! 🔥🔥🔥
Love Winston's Grille. I would suggest you make reservations to go! Went on Dec. 22. This is very popular! The seating was great. My husband's steak was cooked perfectly. My ribs were fantastic. Grilled to perfection. It was a great evening with superb service!

Reasonably priced with a great atmosphere and quality food. Decent draft beer selection, including some local breweries. Recommend earlier time slots as it can be a little noisy when it gets busy. If you're looking for a place to enjoy a meal with the family and make holiday memories, Winston's is a great alternative to that famous steak restaurant off of the 70/Glenwood Ave in Raleigh.
Shrimp and grits 10/10 delicious. Buffalo wings yummy. Crab dip was tasty.
Excellent food and service. We tried the shrimp and grits along with a half chicken.
The shrimp and grits was literally the best I ever tasted and the chicken was juicy and tasted fantastic.
My friend has a gluten allergy and they have a large selection of gluten free options
Great atmosphere! Oldies music Barry White, etc Google label’s the Price at “$$” NOT! See the menus photo. I did’t see anything under $16. I had the special salmon with cream sauce veg. And rice. Very good $18. My wife had the shrimp salad day special. Shrimp was good, but salad dressing was missing spices. Tomato chunks were 1/4 tomato size. The waiters was great.
She spent 3+ minutes describing the day specials. Go for atmosphere not price.
I had their Harvest Salad special and it was amazing. So flavorful. The server was helpful and knowledgeable. The music was a bit loud but overall, an excellent experience.
Celebrated the husbands birthday at Winston's. This was our second time dining in at this restaurant. The food is very good and plentiful. The dinner rolls will cause you to go off your diet. 😂 Our waitress was amazing and made sure all of our requests and needs were met. I had the cashew crusted salmon and although I do not like cashews the food was top notch delicious. One additional plus is that we originally had reservations set for 6 in the evening but had some free time in the day so called the restaurant to see if they could move us to 4 pm, which they did. Definitely worth checking this restaurant out.
