Waffle House

Pretty rough. It had been a long time, maybe over a decade, since I’d been to a Waffle House. I remember them being better. The menu seems a lot smaller, with far fewer options people might actually want. The eggs and bacon were over cooked, the toast and hash browns were under cooked. I don’t think I’ll be back.

My friend from Texas had been in Ky for training for the past 5 weeks and enjoying the Radcliff Ky location every Sunday. Well this was his last Sunday for breakfast at this location until next year. He invited me to join him after church service. We arrived around 12:15 pm. They had plenty of staff and dining facility wasn't full. However,. Service became slow. Food was half cooked and I specifically asked waitress how was the grits. She said,. Perfect. I wish I had taken a picture of my grits. If Chef Ramsey from the Iron Chef. He would have broken the sound barrier. My friend was so embarrassed because he boasted on how delicious the food was. My grits was so hard, on topside and barely wet. It reminded one of uncirculated cement. I actually picked it up with my hand to transfer it to another plate. I laughed the whole time. Even the waitress,. Suggested to another patron behind me in the next booth to ask me about the Grits. All I did was glanced at the gentleman and he high tailed it out of there. So my friend,. The next day went to another waffle house on his way back to Texas. He sent me a true 5 star Waffle House breakfast from Jackson Mississippi. I told him that the waitresses were probably jealous because he brought someone . sorry but this past Sunday was bad service day.
