Roberta

Racine is experiencing growth of "food-to-table" type restaurants, and Roberta is a welcome addition! The venue itself is wonderful and historic, but with just the right updates so it feels both modern and homey. The specials are fantastic, and I think we've ordered one each time we've been there. The menu is creative, but anchored on fresh ingredients and great execution of smart dishes. In several visits I've had yet to have to settle for a dish that's merely "very good"...it's all been excellent.

Roberta's is a quaint little spot in the busy 6th Street part of downtown Racine. I thoroughly enjoyed the "drug store" feel reminiscent of the store front's original occupants. The space is adjacent to a retro vinyl records store and they often open a sliding door so that people can traverse both sides. My only complaint is that the music between the two sides is not the same and it was hard at times to discern between the two types of music. The food was delicious and I especially enjoyed the fried Panko goat cheese and the beer cheese soup which was a thinner consistency, which I liked and hels it's flavor well, balancing both the beer and the cheddar. We also loved the salad with the smokey walnuts and dried cherries.

Roberta's was mine below. Mostly when I go to restaurants I order breakfast foods. And they outdid every restaurant in Racine, hands down. when it came to the Sunny side up eggs and that fantastic, incredible French toast. There was no competition Roberta out did every restaurant, I've ever been to in Racine. Only gave him four stars because only Mama gets five stars. But you can bet no other restaurant has or Will get four stars from me, let's still come with it in a big way. I am a professional fat man I am fat by design not accident. Wonderful dinner here, service was quick and very friendly. Cheese curds were fantastic, I dare say the best this Midwest girl has ever had. Menu was Cajun/soul food inspired with classic comfort foods and some surprising twists. Will definitely be back to try more! Dessert was amazing as well, evident there is some great talent in the kitchen.
