Cozy Dining on the Bank of Mighty Mississippi
I must admit that we were surprised to find such an excellent restaurant in such a relatively small town. The atmosphere was great and the food was delicious. I had a filet mignon and my wife had salmon. Both dishes were extremely well prepared and served hot.
The owner stopped by and we discovered that after a life of globetrotting and entrepreneurship this restaurant is his way of expressing his love and appreciation for the good fortune. After a while, he reappeared and poured us the snifter of most delicious Armagnac.
Perusing some of the reviews I found that some patrons think that this restaurant is pricey. Personally, I don’t think so. Having dined in many, many Michelin starred restaurants I am convinced that the overall value of BoodaLu is excellent for the quality of food that they serve.
Excellent food, warm atmosphere, owners down to earth in sharing the beginnings of restaurant. Would highly recommend this place.
I had the catfish, very good.
This steakhouse is amazing. Food was by far the best I have eaten in awhile. Good vibes throughout the whole evening. Would recommend to everyone.
Restaurant & Lounge. Girls night out started in the gorgeous lounge. Beautiful wine selection and atmosphere. Dinner was equally wonderful. The Blue Bell- Center Cut Filet topped with blue cheese cream sauce and a portabella mushroom was cooked perfectly. The Muddy Dog chowder was delicious and the desserts are a must have. We shared the Carrot Cake drizzled with caramel, Andes Mint chocolate cake and the Creme Brulee. Truly some of the best desserts I have ever had! Thank you Michael & Kathy for the wonderful night out and a superb dining experience, we will be back...soon!
One of my all time favorite places. The atmosphere is incredible. The food has always been wonderful and the owners really do make you feel like family!
Amazing food (especially the steak and seafood) and atmosphere! Owners Michael and Kathy are warm and welcoming! This place has an awesome upstairs cocktail lounge and great ambiance all around. This is a must when in Quincy!
Great experience. A week ago I visited Quincy Illinois and had an utterly pleasant dining experience at Boodalu Restaurant. Just entering a beautiful l870's brick building with tall windows overlooking the Mississippi put me in the mood for a relaxing meal. I was not disappointed. We were comfortably seated and offered a full menu of enticing choices. One offering was "Shrimp Your Way" where large shrimp are prepared just as you choose. I chose fried coconut style and they were cooked to perfection-not over or under cooked. My partner chose the blue cheese topped prime rib. It was robust and satisfying. We both liked the wedge salad and the lovely wine list. Do not miss the bottle cap portraits of the dogs upstairs, they are works of art.
Michael and Kathy, the owners, were there to make sure our every need was attended to. I think it is a great evening for couples or family gatherings. It would be worth driving out of our way next time we are in the area.
BoodaLu Steakhouse in Quincy, IL is outstanding! This restaurant is in an old brick warehouse near the Mississippi River. The staff was great. Our server, Bre is as good as they get. Personable, knowledgeable about the menu & whiskey choices. She recommended the BoodaLu Old Fashioned, which was spot on with the Wagyu steak pairing. The seared Ahi Tuna app was really good as well. This was my first visit here, but I’m already looking for a reason to return to Quincy so I can dine here again. The down side is, they only have the Wagyu as an occasional special. So if that’s what you have your taste buds set on, make sure you call ahead to see if it’s on the menu.
First-time patron and I was not disappointed. Our waitress was attentive and polite and knowledgeable of menu items. Our food was sent out in a timely manner. We ordered beverages (I got an Old Fashioned and he ordered a Manhattan) and they were quite delicious. The steaks we had for dinner were also fantastic. Done to perfection and full of flavor, they were tender and juicy. I believe I had the Bleu Bell (I cannot remember the name) treatment, which was wonderful. I would definitely recommend a night out here.
Ordered the KC Strip and it's one of the best steaks I've had in my life. Great staff and excellent drinks too.
If you're on Quincy, where else are you going?
First time, won't be our last! Attentive, but not hovering staff. Excellent variety of menu choices without trying to do too much.
Hats off the the chef! The food was excellent! My taste buds are still savoring the delicious flavors.
Our server was on point! Friendly, knowledgeable, prompt, our glasses never emptied and our table never filled with dishes.
The atmosphere of the old building is very cool and the art work on the walls is well done and pleasing to the eye.
We started with the Motz Balls as the appetizer. Very very appetizing!
I had House Salad with House Vinaigrette. Best dressing in town! Entree was Ribeye steak (medium), twice baked potato & grilled asparagus.. If you like asparagus, you'll love this! Everything was excellent!
My fiance' had the Pecan Crusted Salmon, Cheese Grits & Garlic Mashed Potatoes. The Salmon was cooked to perfection, covered in a sweet cream sauce that we couldn't get enough of. We even asked our server for some extra sauce. She was great! Our experience at BoodaLu Steakhouse was exciting, fun and Delicious! A true dining experience.
One of Quincy's Top Fine Dining Adventures!
An awesome place for fine dining. My steak was tender, tasty and done to perfection. Creme Brulee for dessert was a wonderful ending to the meal. My husband totally enjoyed his Korean Beef Kabob special. Service was fast, efficient, and friendly. Their wines were delightful. An overall great experience. We will be back again.
Nice place very good steaks
