Had my girlfriend’s birthday dinner (late arrival, 8pm-ish) and a second dinner at sunset a few days later here. 5-stars on all fronts, from the delicious food to the wonderful hospitality and the super knowledgeable sommelier (and corresponding sake and wine list). They also make a consistently great old fashioned cocktail. We got the best seat in the house watching the beautiful sunset.

If you are looking for a romantic dinner spot with a view, look no further! This was absolutely the most incredible sunset view of our trip! We were staying at the Fairmont orchid nearby and were able to get dinner reservations here one night. We did the chef’s six course dinner and while it was pricey, it was such a fun experience and a way to try new dishes. I would definitely recommend eating here during your time on the big island!!

Had an amazing dinner here during our stay at the resort. Went with the chefs 6 course tasting menu. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and the ingredients. All the dishes were full of flavour. Seafood was fresh, cooked perfectly and many layers of flavours. Overall the best meal we had on the island. Would highly recommend. Only regret is we didn’t have get a chance to go back for a second meal during our stay but will definitely be back.

We had an amazing meal here for a special occasion and it was spectacular on all accounts. I recommend making your reservation for about 30- 60 minutes before sunset so you can enjoy that time and see the guy come thru in costume to light all the torches. Chef's tasting menu was great, with excellent timing and presentation of the courses and delicious food. Drinks were good too. Luckily, it did not rain that evening but I'm unsure what their backup plan would have been. We spent about $1500 after a generous tip for 6 people and felt that it was worth it for the entire experience and a memorable meal. If you have a special occasion and want to do something nice, it is a great spot.

Hi I’m DA and today was my 11th birthday. The food was great especially the lobster tempura and everyone was really nice. They even put a candle in my cake without us even asking. You could see the sunset and it was a really great place.

CanoeHouse is nestled on the Mauna Lani Resort property. Perched within 50 feet or less from the beach, we set while savoring succulent ceviche. While adding vitamin D to our daily nutrition, we embraced the breathtaking mountain views. It was a spiritual moment for us. As the sun kissed our cheeks, it reminded us of our late mom's kiss. Service was decent at times. However, once you receive waitstaff's attention, the entire experience is elevated.

Ate dinner here with my family while we were visiting the Island and Indi was our waitress. She was extremely knowledgeable and friendly and so delightful all around. Some of the best customer service I have ever experienced !! (Also a great location for a proposal, trust me, we tested it.)

The setting is lovely, right on the beach. Service was attentive and friendly. They ask about and accommodate dietary restrictions. They have a separate vegitarian menu so ask for it if you need it. Food was creative but not to the point of being weird. Everything was tasty. One of the most positive resturant experiences I've had in a while.

This restaurant is worth the rave reviews, 100%. The service alone makes it stand out from the crowd at a time when many restaurants are struggling with staff issues; everyone who served us was ridiculously friendly, polite, helpful, knowledgable, and most crucially, happy to spend that bit of extra time taking photos for us, giving us wine recommendations etc. - clearly this place knows how to hire, train and retain top quality people. The price is fairly high, yes. We paid the $135 for the 6 course menu plus 3 bottles of wine, so the bill was a fair chunk of money, but it was worth it. The fish dishes were definitely the best- we all even enjoyed the oysters which none of us usually eat! The setting is perfection, and going at 5:30 like we did was ideal for having a nice break between the fish courses and the steak to go and take photos of the beautiful sunset. What a memory! Hopefully I’ll be back again one day.
