We asked our Realtor for the best place to stop in for lunch in the area, and this was #1 on her list for good reason! Great crab cakes, but I have to say, the Haddock nuggets are **chef’s kiss**. So good, we’ve driven all the way out here from over an hour away for the good food and great hospitality. Bonus points if you get to have a conversation w/ Jerry himself!

Absolutely exceptional. Food was amazing, service was impeccable. They gave us free bread and even haddock bites as a starter, as you sit down. After ordering, they even let us sample the soups to understand what they were like, best cream of crab I've ever had(it's curry based). Looking back, I don't remember a single moment where we had to wait for food, it was just one amazing bite after the other until we journeyed into a food coma. Absolutely recommend Jerry's Place to anyone in the area, you won't regret it.

This was an awesome dinning experience. The food and staff were great. We had oysters, hush puppies, stewed tomatoes and the best crabcake. Definitely planning on returning.

Mt husband and father-in-law went and raved about their experience, so they brought me back the next night. It did not disappoint! Service was excellent, and the food was the best I've had since we moved to the area last year. We will definitely be back and will bring friends who want to enjoy amazing seafood!

Jerry's Place never disappoints. We visit at least once a year while in the area. The crab dip is an excellent starter followed by shrimp and the granddad crab cake. It's a lot of food and everything is delicious. As far as sides go, the stewed tomatoes are unbelievable! I highly recommend the tomatoes... not your traditional stewed tomatoes though. Finally, the owner and staff round out the experience and make it unforgettable! While you're waiting for your food, make sure to enjoy the caricatures on every wall. This hidden gem next to Mr. Tire is unassuming but well worth the trip!!

Great meal at Jerry's Place today. A quaint spot with a family oriented feel. There were plenty of pics of (I take) Jerry's family on the walls. Our meal started with complimentary samples of haddock bites and warm rolls with butter. My meal consisted of the Mariner's platter (seafood variety), with baked potato and stewed tomatoes. Stewed tomatoes were a little sweet so I topped my baked potato with them. The seafood was lightly breaded and seasoned just right. One friend had stuffed shrimp with crab cake, baked potato and slaw. My other friend had haddock and junior crab cake with baked potato and seasoned kale. Our server provided excellent service. This was definitely a treat!!

We were out fishing since early morning and were starving for lunch. Before we even entered the restaurant, Jerry was out there greeting us and telling us all the great stuff he wanted us to try. True enough to his word, he brought out some samples of his dishes that he wanted us to try: kale, stewed tomatoes, haddock bites, even the seasonal special: soft shell crab. He wanders off to go talk to the other patrons, and then circle back to talk with us about his love of food. Super friendly service and the decor is unique and cozy; you won't find a place like this very often and Jerry is a real treasure. The crab cake is a real winner, huge portion size of sweet juicy crab meat with no filler. Probably the best tasting crab cake I've had in the DMV. Is it still a crab cake if it has no filler? Who cares, it's absolutely worth it. Wife had the fried shrimp stuffed with crab cakes. The fried shrimp had a very good firm texture and perfectly fried so the tails were edible too. The side of kale is not the raw healthy salad it sounds like; it's cooked like collard greens. Stewed long with onions and bacon and it's delicious. Coleslaw is crispy and refreshing, light mayonnaise dressing without too much water. I'm always happy to see stewed tomatoes anywhere on a menu. Jerry's does it with loads of sugar and butter. Personally think there's too much sugar but I can understand that other customers might enjoy it more that way. The soft shell crab was served with Jerry's homemade General Tso's sauce. Jerry explained he takes the carapace off because other places keep the carapace on to make it look like there's more crab than there actually is; he just wants to serve the good stuff. The dark red sauce doesn't taste exactly like General Tso's, it's a bit sweeter and less savory but that strong sweet and sour flavor works with fatty fried soft shell crab all the same. Keep working on it Jerry!

Absolutely loved this place! We stopped in on our way home from a trip and didn’t know what to expect. The food was soooo good! The owner was and his staff were so kind. He treated us and brought us free samples of his stewed tomatoes and cooked kale. They also brought us rolls and fried haddock bites for free. We had the crab cakes and scallops for dinner. They tasted great! I was not disappointed at all. If you live in this area or are just passing through I highly recommend stopping in for a meal! Desert was also a huge hit at our table. The flowerless chocolate cake was a perfect ending to our meal

Loved our dinner the night of and the leftovers. You may wait a while but it's so worth it and as soon as you're seated you're given a sample of one of their menu items to enjoy. We had a good server and our meal was the Grand-Dad crab cake which came with 4 sides which makes it perfect for sharing! Can't wait to go back.

Just enjoyed a fantastic late lunch here. Reviews are consistent across various sites which led us here. Greeted by Jerry himself. Cream of crab - delicious made with a bit of curry! Enjoyed oysters, shrimp and homemade key lime pie. Perfect. Chatted with Jerry - friendly and fun. Unassuming place that is rockstar! We will be back!
