As good as the icon in Baton Rouge location. Good all the time but best breakfast around. The alligator sausage is my personal favorite. It’s delish! Love the biscuits too. If you haven’t been here you are missing something.
Was in town from Little Rock and stopped for breakfast. The most delicious biscuits in the World! Great food, outstanding service!! Will be back!

One of my favorite places to go! There are so many choices from breakfast to dinner! They have great service and the food always tastes great.
This place is always busy, surrounded by lots of cars, and for good reason: the food is great. A lot of variety, and if it's not on the menu, just ask. They'll do any combination you want. We had the Cajun eggs benedict. It comes with grits, but we subbed chunky fried potatoes. The classic hollandaise sauce had cajun seasoning (not too much) and tiny shrimp. Instead of an english muffin, they used giant, fluffy, homemade biscuits. The ham was a huge slice, seared on the grill with absoloutely the best flavor I've ever had (not too salty) just right. I didn't try the ultimate Bloody Mary (17.95) but will on another trip. I'm told it's a meal in itself. The staff was friendly. There was a bit of a wait, about 30 mintues, but there were a LOT of people there. There's some original art inside, and lots of unique items in the gift shop. Spoke to some folks inside that had been going there since the 90's. It's definately got a lot of character, reminds me of Gwennies in Alaska, well worth the trip.
The service at Frank's is always fast and friendly. This is a great place for family time! We are happy and full every time we leave! Sit at the bar on a Sunday morning to see how fast the kitchen pumps out food!
Food is fantastic and service second to none. Recommend this place any day. They have made a regular out of me. I had the western omelet, great!
Nice Spot for Breakfast. I've eaten here a few times, and I prefer their breakfast far more than their lunch and dinner menu. Biscuits are pretty good, nice selection of omelets, good pancakes and nice hash browns. Portion sizes are large. Always a nice choice for a good filling breakfast. Lunch and dinner is a different story, as I have yet to try anything on this menu I truly enjoyed. Best bet... go for a good, hearty breakfast. Good thing is, you can order breakfast all day.
The food is great here. But the real treat is the feeling of family from the entire staff. I've never felt more welcome in an eatery.
Very few family restaurants around. This place has great food and wonderful service. Hey y'all support the locals.
Above average because they try.. Another more or less honest place. ‘Less” because they do seem to be aware of their country kitsch value, though not as deeply as Cracker Barrel.
White beans and rice were actually cooked here, it seems, with large strings of lean pickled pork and distinction of real dots of green onion. So, I’m guessing they’re not canned. Sausage accompaniment is standard for Baton Rouge. It was tolerable. At least it had girll marks.
I don’t think it was Mands. That’s a strong certainty because I know Manda. It is Baton Rouge’s city sausage. They fry it at the tailgating at Tiger Stadium, Through years of deprivation of actual sausage, the Baton Rougeouisie have come to literally believe Manda is edible. Manda is a Bar S hot dog if the Bar S factory’s quality control filters are out of the building being cleaned. It’s flavor is corn syrup. The Baton Rouges eat it and smile. Because they are stupid.
Anyway, don’t believe the local hype about Frank’s biscuits. They’re not some kind of out-of-this-world fantastic. They’re not ready-portioned Sister Schubert’s but they’re not great. So, middling on that. maybe they are better at breakfast time.
The greens are superior and seem done in the kitchen. They have bits of meatstuffs that are lean and real.
Catfish is All You Can Eat on Tuesday nights. Tried locations on Airline and Prairieville. Hot, clean filets of catfish, not bassa, not Mekong sewer fish. Tasted like clean pond catfish. AYCE comes with several sides. But you don’t want to fill up on sides.
If Frank’s is getting ingredients from a can, they’re at least doctoring well past concealing it.
A solid B. Would be a B+ if the biscuits had lived up to their rabid local reputation. But then, Baton Rouge raves about that good ol’ Manda sausage.
Down home atmosphere, amazing food and second to none service. The variety of savory dishes served here are nothing short of incredible. I’ve had one of the best: omelets, hamburger steaks, chicken fried steaks, seafood pasta with crab cakes, hamburgers, char grilled oysters, seafood platters, and fried catfish plates I’ve ever had. OMG can you say RANCH DRESSING, I’ll put their’s up against anywhere! BTW the grilled squash is my favorite side dish.
Great food nothing was left to take home.
Prices are on the expensive side. Highly recommend when you're in the area.
The food is fantastic and the service is great!! Definitely recommend the stuffed french toast with strawberries for breakfast!!
I have also had the chicken-n-dumplins which tasted like my grandma used to make however I was a bit disappointed with the number of dumplings compared to the size of the bowl.
I always turn my nose up at the idea of going out for breakfast because to me, it's so simple to make at home. However, this restaurant blew me away! Their breakfast menu is so creative and inventive. I had the breakfast biscuits with the Creole sauce and shrimp, and my mom had the French toast with strawberries and homemade whipped cream. Absolutely, ridiculously delicious. Worth the trip any way you cut it. Great, fast service too considering how busy the restaurant was!
We are new to the area and love brunch. Google suggested this place. We’ve been 2 times with friends and we’ve enjoyed every visit. If your dieting, this ain’t the spot for you. Their food is soo good, there is no way you’ll leave without a full belly. Staff is friendly and no matter how busy they appear to be, they are moving so the waits aren’t bad. Once seated, our food always came out timely and fresh. Definitely a regular spot for us.
Solid diner food with the service you’d expect from a down home local joint. I’ve never been able to bring myself to order anything that wasn’t breakfast, but my wife and kids tell me everything else is also quite tasty. I’ll just have to trust them in that. For my money the biscuits are some of the best in country, I’m craving one now as I write this review.
