My go-to lunch spot whenever I visit Poughkeepsie. I always get the short-ribbed grilled cheese and it is heavenly! The place has a casual vibe and is always busy. I went on a Monday at 3 PM and the place was still 70% full! However, I didn’t wait long for my food, which came out hot and perfect, as always. They use fresh ingredients in every dish, and I’ve never had a bad meal here. It is also located right next to the Walkway over the Hudson. You can leave the café, turn left, and climb the steps that take you right to the entrance of the Walkway.
You must stop by, and be sure to place your order in advance if you plan to visit during peak lunch hours. You can always take it to-go and eat your lunch by the Hudson River on Marist’s campus, which is only a 5-minute drive away.
They are friendly and attentive to every customers; no judgement here. It gets really busy and pickup orders are insane. They are right next to one of the entrance to walk way over the Hudson. Whenever, I come this way, I make a pit stop to pick up something. I personally like their homestyle wraps, Thai spicy peanut salad ... fries...I like every thing I have tried here.
Every main course meal I've eaten here has been nothing short of great and tasty. The cooks know what they're doing. Only reason I give this place 4 stars is because the sides are not very good except their fries and peanut noodles. My favorite thing so far is the Red Fox wrap. I recommend this place to anyone who likes Cafe lunch.
Lola's burger was perfect as it's. Peanut noodles was a nice addition, I didn't miss the fries at all. The staff was very nice and friendly.
I finally got to check this place out, we weren't disappointed at all. The sandwiches were really good and the woman at the counter was friendly and very helpful. Definitely try their pad Thai, it's creamy and delicious.
I eat at Lola’s quite often and their salads are incredible!! The house made dressings are what make them so tasty. Unique flavors and great portion sizes! 10/10 recommend
Always fresh, delicious, and healthy. I’ve been getting take out and delivery from Lola’s since their first year. Everything is consistent and they have wonderful staff- who listen carefully to your order and ensure it’s packed up correctly- a true delight compared to a lot of take out from other places I frequent. I highly recommend the Waldorf Salad, Peanut Noodles, Southwest Bowl, and Chicken Bruschetta Panini. Great selection of beverages, I especially love their range from Harney & Sons Teas. I tried the tofu on my Southwest Bowl and it was seasoned perfectly and I really enjoyed the change up from my usual chicken. There is good reason Lola’s has been in business for so many years, they truly run a well oiled machine!
Food was fantastic. I'm gluten-free and their bread was the best I've ever tasted. Service was excellent as well. The crowd was deserved as this place should be that popular!
