Subway

This was so outrages, the employee was rude beyond belief. I would have left but my kids were at a dance completion and I had a half hour to get them something to eat and they all picked subs. Apparently, I did not identify the cheese properly calling it mozzarella and not American cheese. Then I was told that with an order this big, ( 3 six in subs and one foot long) was too many to just walk in with without calling ahead so close to lunch... it was 10:45? The employee then called out to others that were waiting in line she would get to them shortly. I said to them yes apparently I was rude and ordered too much. People were mortified and said oh it’s totally fine but you could tell the employee , who was training a new employee, really did not want an order this big and was getting flustered. As the sandwiches were coming to an end and I was paying, she said she wanted to ensure I would call ahead like more considerate people to give them a heads up for such a large order... 3 six in subs, and one foot long? I realized that this was so bizarre I was overly polite throughout the exchange. I told her she was incredibly rude and that I would never be back to that location. To the person that owns that location your staff needs to take a curtesy course!!!

I was just at this location and the guy has an attitude that is wicked bad. I asked for a sweet onion chicken sandwich and he ASSUMED (and we all know what that means) I wanted it toasted and the cheese melted and I did NOT. He then acted like it was my fault he screwed up!!! I am not sure I will return to this location. I walked out of this same store because of attitude. I will give the guy credit after standing out front having a cigarette, he did wash his hands and gloved up. I like Subway sandwiches just not the attitude at this store. Time there Thursday 10/15 at 530ish.

Not only was I just turned away and refused service at 7:20pm(9/21/20) on a Monday evening. I was also lied to and told that "We close at 6:30." I swear I was turned away by the same employee at the St. John location as well. Save yourself the hassle and avoid ALL the Portland locations...just go to Falmouth or South Portland for better service and better sandwiches

This Subway shop is Recommended because... Customer service at Fast Food restaurants can be hit or miss depending on who serves you, and their mood at the moment. But I've never had a serious problem at this sub shop, which I regularly visit. Most recently I was waited on by a very friendly, yet professional young man. I asked him to cut all 4 of my foot long subs in half and wrap each half separately, and he cheerfully complied. Food is obviously not gourmet, but is tasty, and new limited edition subs are regularly spotlighted. You choose all the ingredients: type of bread, meat, cheese, veggies, sauces. Prices are reasonable, with regular sales. Nutritional information is available. Wheelchair accessible. Bathrooms only for customers. And I've never seen this store dirty. In the heart of downtown Portland; an easy walking distance from stores, movie & music theaters, clubs, museums, art galleries, businesses, the Civic Center, the public library. Unfortunately, no easy free parking. Delivery available through outside services.

Store manager served us our subs and drinks with a smile and jokes even though we could see she was under pressure to set up and present her counter.(we arrived essentially the second this location opened..oops) really appreciated her treatment of us bc she never let us feel like we put her out of her way even tho she was marching around taking care of business when we walked in. When we left we were laughing. Cool subway.

Is anybody else noticing the two kids out in front of the store always smoking buts? First couple times i thought they were customers but both of them work there. I used to stop to get sandwiches here all the time, but not since ive seen that. I don't care if they wear gloves or wash their hands, i'm definitely not having my meal made by A: smelly hands and B: kids who obviously don't care about customer service or image. I advice you guys to stop going here until they get some new staff that cares about how food is made. Not saying every worker there is like that, but whenever i want to go i cant.
