For the love of all things sacred, someone please hire a cleaning crew!
This location wasn't just cluttered from business, it was filthy.
Grime and detritus in the corners, who knows what smeared on the windows, floor needing a sweep and mop, and the tables and chairs could have used the attention of soap and water.
The only reason that this location rates 2 star, is that the employee who waited on me was polite and courteous.

Perfectly fine location with modern dark wood / Starbucks furnishings. Store overlooks Director (Plaza) Park and is near the Fox Tower cinemas and inside Portland's retail core.
Employees are courteous on my visits.
Door could be a bit difficult to navigate for those in a wheelchair or with disabilities.

In my previous town I had "my Starbucks" and it wasn't until I started coming to this store that I found "my store". I frequent it multiple times a week and while it can be busy, especially when it's sunny, the rushes are always manageable. Kraig and the rest of the partners have become friends to me and it's always a great way to spend a break from the office.

We needed to kill some time on a hot evening before heading east to dinner, the airport and Virginia. Most coffee shops in downtown Portland close at six, but this one closed at seven. It was clean and had an open outlet so we could charge our phones. The coffee was exactly what you would expect. If you get a seat looking out towards the park, there will probably be something to watch.

I have never been so compelled to contact customer service to complain about any of the Starbucks stores I've been to as Starbucks is known for it's great coffee and customer service... until now. Today 8/15/16 at around 3:10PM, my bf and I went to the Starbucks store at 906 SW Taylor St, Portland Oregon. We have a service dog with us (a small dog Chihuahua-Yorkie mix) that I was carrying as he's tired of walking. I sat inside as my boyfriend ordered and was already waiting for his drink by the counter. A manager named CRAIG walked up to me and loudly asked "Is that a service dog?! We do not allow dogs in the store! Is that a service dog?!" I was surprised because he was so loud and he sounded very rude when he asked it. I told him "why do you have to ask that way? You might want to be discreet about it" He was so rude he told me to get out of the store. I told him that my boyfriend is waiting for our drink by the counter and we're just gonna be out soon anyway. But he began yelling across the room towards my boyfriend "Hey Is that a service dog? she's not answering my question!". My boyfriend got mad because of his tone and voice and told the manager that the dog is a service dog and that he needs to relax and not be mean. The manager told me to get out of the store, I was very upset about it when we were just customers trying to get our drink. I asked for his name and he said Craig. I asked if he's the manager and answered me with attitude, "Yes I am the manager, get out of the store." I stepped out of the store carrying my dog and left my boyfriend inside." My boyfriend got out very mad, without his drink. He said the manager Craig took the drink away and refunded our money and told my boyfriend to never come back to his store again. We are in great disbelief that someone with an attitude like that be a Starbucks employee, worse he's the manager in a tourist area of Portland. We love Portland and this experience made us so upset and left a bad taste in our mouths. It definitely ruined out day. We felt so violated and we want the corporate headquarters know that this has happened. This kind of Starbucks customer service is unacceptable and I am very compelled to follow through on this case with Starbucks HQ until this is resolved.

its usually a good place and the baristas are nice, accept for the store manager (the guy with the black glasses) who is mean and gives attitude to people. I was shocked to see his behavior, 3 people left in anger because of him.
im a big Starbucks user and haven't seen a behavior like this.
I will never step foot in there again.
if you like a friendly place don't go in there.
I would advise him to move out of Portland ASAP.
here is not the place for such unfriendly people like him.

The vibe is pretty relaxed despite the downtown location. Most of the time, people are just popping in for their daily coffee fix. It isn't the best for long-term studying/working space but good for meeting up with some people or just grabbing a drink.

I watched an employee who looked like she was very disturbed toss her lit cigarette into the street and go back into the coffee shop. The cigarette is still burning, I was tempted to pick it up and throw it back into the store. I wouldn’t trust my coffee with her.
