The food is absolutely delicious! Truly authentic German food, reminded me so much of my time in Germany and the woman there is an absolute sweetheart!
I love this cozy, homey place. It's not a fancy restaurant by any means, but the food is wonderful, the service is great, and the coffee is bottomless. When I was a local I went often, and every time I'm back in Portland I make a point to eat breakfast here at least once!
This small place is a gem. From the mismatched tables and chairs to the plates and glasses, everything will remind you of being in a relative's home. The restaurant reminded me of the places I would go to in Portugal, as most of the best restaurants are the small local places that make you feel like you are eating at home. The food is incredibly delicious and tastes extremely fresh. We went for brunch and we were there early and served by the owner. She was very friendly and offered suggestions on the menu. I loved everything I had and can not wait to return again for brunch.
Properly prepared German cuisine made with real ingredients and loving care. Also, a wonderful hole-in-the-wall gemütlich neighborhood place with very experienced very friendly people managing things. The owner ( Frau Wirtin Steffi) is always in the store! I always have trouble deciding what to order. It is not that the menu is complicated. There are such good choices to make. I love the fact that it is BY0B. It keeps the cost of a meal down a bit.
The food was fantastic, and they were very very nice. During covid regulations we had to take out and eat our lunch at a nearby park, but it was still perfect. Hopefully someday we'll be back in the area and have a dine in experience!
