What a delightful experience I had-all around! I felt like I was family and it was my first visit. I was in town to see the play at Portland Stage and enjoyed some delicious and comforting crab and corn fritters, a scrumptious dessert, and a unique martini made with extra care by Winnie! Beyond the food was the company I kept which was priceless! Exactly what a mom needed. I will be back...but shhh...it's a surprise! ;) (Tell Larry I say hello from Wisconsin!)

The food is absolutely fantastic. The chef/owner procures locally and creates the menu daily based on her findings. A few staples (like her killer burger 🍔) are always on the menu. The bartender/owner makes the best martini's and is such a joy! Love this hidden gem!

Really good food and great service in a unique setting and atmosphere but severely overpriced. My friend's steak was the same price as my meatless pasta dish which is quite absurd.

Definitely off the main roads in Portland. Cool little place, very warm and friendly people. You can tell they care about the food. After several nights of huge crowds, it was nice to come here and relax. The food was excellent. The chef really knows what they are doing. Can’t get a seat anywhere in Old Port? Walk the few extra blocks out to Katahdin.

Wonderful dinner there this evening. Staff is welcoming and charming. Our starter, corn and crab fritters, were absolutely delicious....flavorful, fresh, and just crisp enough. Shrimp risotto was perfection as were the day boat scallops. Lovely wine selection. And, a cosy atmosphere.

A hidden gem off the beaten path, Katahdin is representative of everything that makes Portland special. The space itself is beautiful. High ceilings, exposed brick and intimate lighting result in a cozy atmosphere that is made even more welcoming by co-owner and bartender-extraordinaire, Winnie. Her drinks are second to none and always chased with a warm conversation. The menu, created by co-owner and Chef Becky, is consistently excellent - personal favorites include the woodfire grilled NY sirloin and the chicken & apple bacon chutney. In the age of COVID, it’s important that restaurants prioritize the safety of their patrons. Katahdin has done a wonderful job adapting to the “new normal.” Staff wear masks and provide handsanitizer, and stylish plexi-glass dividers provide a protective barrier at the bar area without feeling intrusive. Great food, intimate atmosphere and service that always goes above and beyond. Katahdin is truly a special place in the Portland food scene.
