We were in the EastPort Plaza area for coffee and decided to stop for lunch as well. The neighboring dim sum place was packed to the brim and overflowing outside so we decided to try this Hawaiian BBQ place instead and were really pleasantly surprised. The ambiance is very basic (no frills) and the food is very affordable and delicious. I ordered Chicken Katsu and loved it. I'll be back for more!

Guy working here was smoking a cigarette when we arrived and insisted that he finish it before coming in to take our order, secondly they messed up my order, I’ve been eating at L&L for years and always order the same thing, the Chicken Katsu Curry. This time they put beef on it, and insisted that it’s the only way it comes, yet I’ve never had it this way the hundreds of times I’ve been to an L&L. I didn’t want to waste the food anyways but would have been nice if they at least offered to fix it or apologize, rather than rudely and passive aggressively insist I was wrong. Restrooms were disgusting, whole place was dirty. Every 5 minutes he went out for a cigarette. Corporate needs to look into this. Won’t be returning. Ever.

I love hawaiian cuisine so we were hoping this would be a good experience. In fact, it was quite unpleasant. The poor staffer was left alone to do all the cooking, cashiering, and cleaning- apparently his manager was due some time before and was late. The food did not taste good. The place was dirty. My husband couldn't even eat his meal, so we both picked at mine for a while before we gave up and left.

I seriously have no respect for this place. Waited over 40 minutes for my food. They messed up and kept giving other customers my food. Then they argued with me to give me a refund. Then they refunded a different customers card and didn't recharge them. They finally refunded me after being there for an hour!! I asked to speak to the manager but they said he was at a dental appointment and I called back today and now he has a therapy appointment. How convenient. None of my 204 employees will be going here anymore. They lost business because of their terrible customer service. I will be reporting to the better business bureau.

The food was decent, but my friend and I had to wait 45 minutes on a slow afternoon for our food while watching other people get served before us. The staff did not warn us about any wait time (even though there was only one other customer) and seemingly forgot about our order over all. When we did get our food and walked out of the building, I notice my order was wrong. I loved the malasadas, but will most likely never return for a meal.

I love the food, but today I noticed the whole eating area, floor , front counter in the front and chairs were super dirty. I could also see the grill on top and the front we're also dirty. Makes me think twice. Hoping the kitchen is much cleaner, but never gotten sick. They seriously need to clean up.

I have to say I was pretty disappointed. I got the Loco Moco and the flavor was not there. It was definitely a frozen patty that was grilled and the egg was completely overdone. The gravy tasted like it was canned. Really bummed. I went to an L@L in Honolulu and it was really good. I was hoping to have the same taste.

The first impression I got from L&L Hawaiian Barbecue was sterile. I think any restaurant with an open kitchen should smell like food, and the restaurant was too cold. L&L's lack of an inviting smell portended the meal I ordered: the mahi plate. True to a Hawaiian plate it came with sticky rice, macaroni salad, chopped cabbage and tartar sauce. The mahi was sliced thin, battered and deep fat fried. It was tasteless. I couldn't detect any herbs or spices (maybe this is by design so one can season the fish themselves). The macaroni salad was also bland, but palatable. They were out of plates (?), so I got the meal in to-go containers even though I was eating in and their credit card terminal wasn't producing any receipts. Both minor things, if the food had been good. To be fair, other items on their generous menu may taste better, though I doubt I'll return to find out.
