Bear Paw Inn

Located in the Brooklyn neighborhood in Portland. OR, a cozy little pub for drinks and food with friends. Karaoke on Friday and Saturday nights. Truly a local hang out! Also a conveniently located spot to stop and grab a bite after a show at the Aladdin Theater. Small and cozy, order food and drinks at the bar. Entertaining atmosphere with pool, darts, and pinball.

Really wanted to go here for a while, drive by it all the time... Was absolutely blown away by how big it was inside, but beyond that I don't know maybe I just built it up too big in my head before going here? Thought it would be cheaper, or better, and it wasn't either. Bit of a random spot, yet not much of a local vibe when I went in? And the entire time I was there I just kept thinking of all the bars we were at before that and how I wanted to go back... It wasn't bad, just wasn't good. Was going to give it 3-stars but dropped it down to 2-stars because of the chicken sandwich... I felt like I was on an episode of Bar Rescue eating this thing, it was like literally chicken tenders with cheese or something, idk how to explain it... Portland is like a food city, was just very surprised and unsatisfied.

If America sported a neighborhood Pub-centric culture in the same vein as certain shires of the UK, then this would be our interpretation of it. Part dive bar, part adult community center, completely part of the neighborhood. The drinks are good without requiring a kings ransom, and the chow is darn comforting too if you didn't just gorge at the Hotcake House.
