My family has been going to Happy Garden since the 70's. My parents brought me their as a child and now I am always happy to go there as an adult. The original owners daughter now runs the restaurant and it is as good as ever. The Wonton soup has been a favorite of mine since childhood. It is the most reasonably priced and best tasting northern Chinese food around. I highly recommend it!
Family experience!
Seriously, it's like we were part of the family. Everyone there treated us the same way we treat each other and that's a good thing. Everyone was super comfortable and nice, food was good but nothing too special. Prices and portions were pretty standard too.
The best part is that the staff didn't keep checking on us every 5 minutes like some other places. We were able to enjoy our time together as a family without interruption.
It was the people that made it a great place to go. We'll be there again!
A local family favorite since childhood. Ask for pot stickers when you first sit down, as they take about 15-20 minutes and are worth the wait. The beef fried rice is amazing, and either the egg flower, or the hot and sour soup, are comforting on a rainy day. I also recommend the sesame chicken, and to try for yourself one of the many other family style dishes they serve.
Some real standout dishes here. The inside is actually very cozy and not as ghetto as it looks from the outside. Plus the service is great. If you're looking for a good Chinese dinner around 122nd, this is the place to go. Try the Manderin Chicken.
The food is really good, and if you have special requests for your food, they will do it. However, the servers still manage to be quite rude. Overall still a great place to get take out.
We've been going to this place forever and their food is great. Location and restaurant? Not so great. I order carry out.
