I had the vegan burrito (smoked tofu instead of cheese) today. Tasty and filling and excellent value. Can't wait to try the dal.

What a magical experience. Every server-side employee that I spoke to was incredibly knowable, helpful, and generous with their time. The food was savory and just enough to get a bite and move on. The drinks were good, but the experience got even better when we skated our individual pallets and they came up with personalized cocktails for each of us. They were spot on and delicious. We all left with full bellys, a good buzz, and a memorable evening. Five stars all the way ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

While the Pearl District is known for its outstanding eateries it can also be known for its outstanding prices. The hairy Lobster was a pleasant surprise in that the food was outstanding but the prices were reasonable and fair. I really love small plate sharing experiences and that is part of what the Hairy Lobster is all about. I had read from some reviews to try the Parker rolls with the lavender whipped honey as well as the mushroom bisque. OMG, the bisque is so delicious that I really wanted to just have it all to myself but did share of course. The Parker rolls are good, although the rolls are just a plain white roll actually, nothing special there, but it's the salt? that they sprinkle on top, and the lavender they put in the butter, these flavors are probably not something you've had before and it's just a delightful flavor experience. Also tried was the Kennebec Pommes frites... if it weren't for the fry sauce served with these there just wouldn't be anything to say about them at all. The fry in and of itself is very Bland, they should use some truffle oil or something. The star of the show for us was their crispy pork steak that sits atop a sweet potato Patty flavored with ginger and yellow curry. Now I have to tell you I am not a fan of Curry and don't like strong flavors of ginger but we were in a experimental mood and wow am I ever glad that we were, because the flavors on this dish were outstanding and interesting and made my palette sing with notes not heard before. I don't remember the name of the desert that we had but it was delicious, it was a hazelnut brownie sundae sort of concoction and excellent. The staff and our server were fantastic. They knew just right when to come and everything was absolutely perfect and just an overall wonderful dining experience. Thank you hairy Lobster!

Went with a group of 6. We each ordered about 2 plates and shared. Everything we ordered was delicious! I especially loved the crispy pork belly and rolls with lavender honey. Excellent service as well! Near the end of the night, the chef came over to chat, which was really neat. It was nice to be able to compliment him in person.

An amazing place for a birthday dinner! I love the family style dishes as well as the unique choices. We had a Maine lobster on my birthday which is fitting since I was born in Maine. 😁 They also presented a sweet cupcake in honor of my birthday even though we didn't order dessert. 🧁 Very warm and cozy vibe. They use mismatched china plates, which my mom loved. Will definitely go again!

A delightfully surprising blend of tastes in a small plate style restaurant. Portions are appetizer size and prices range from $14 to $50+ for seasonal steaks and seafood items. The experience is delightful though.

Beautiful location (great decor and textures) with thoughtful food and cocktails. Definitely enjoyed the meal, but wasn’t as impressed as I expected to be (maybe my taste buds were a little off?). Tried the #NewYearNewMe cocktail (Vodka, Averna, Port, Grapefruit, Lemon, Soda | 11) and liked it, but it wasn’t my favorite ever. The lavender-honey butter was to-die-for with the Parker House rolls (a bit too greasy themselves, though). Spicy Whipped Sweet Potato with free-range chicken, smoked onion panzanella salad ($12) was really interesting. Very sweet at first, spice hit you later! Fresh chicken (personally found the proportion a little off compared to other ingredients), great crotons and greens. Cracklin' Beef Short Rib with fresh sage spatzle, caramelized onion gravy creamed horseradish ($25) was phenomenal (just personally don’t like horseradish, though anyone else would)! Pork rib tips had great flavor in the Braised Pork Rib Tips Mac & Cheese with rigatoni, roasted poblano, cornbread crunch ($16), but it was a little creamy for my taste. Peppermint dream chocolate mousse cake made me think of a unique take on the chocolate lava cake. Really liked the taste but the portion was large, so I would recommend it for a larger group! I was also tempted by the Oregon pear tart, so I guess we’ll be back!

We had our company Christmas party here and it was beyond perfect. The atmosphere was so welcoming and relaxing, as were the friendly faces of the staff. We had a pretty large group so we were sat upstairs (with reservations of course) and the owners came to personally welcome us and introduce themselves. We need more places like these in Portland! I am so impressed.

Original. Creative. Great for some people. Not for everybody. Very comfortable homey setting. The menu is limited but changes often. Very original menu choices - sort of like this is what we found at the market today so let’s see what we can create. The rolls with lavender honey were very good - but pricey. The rib-eye steak platter was a nice sampling with watermelon salad. The steel head salmon was just passable. Billed as a share plate establishment. It was not well explained by our waitress and the portion sizes varied widely between the dishes at our table of three. There is always one dish with some lobster.
