Best brisket sandwich in town! Also, I’ve never had a smoked & fried chicken sandwich but it’s so legit that I’m surprised it’s not more common. Pretty sure they just invented the next big thing. Other favorites: smash burger, fries, and their rotating sodas are delicious.

This modern New American food cart is a gem. Pizza is a fun mini-rendition of a Detroit style, the fries are everything anyone could ask for. Do not miss the daily pasta special - the Gnocchi was velvety & tender, the penne with seafood ragu sublime.

Please buy from them! I got their fries and their fry sauce is AMAZING! I came to know the person from sitting at the cartside bar and I’m glad I ordered from them! Such a great person and fantastic customer service! Do I taste a hint of lemon in their secret sauce…? Yum!

This place is easily the best cart in Portland, and one of my favorite places to get food anywhere in the city, including brick & mortar restaurants. Everything they serve is incredible. The fries are crispy, perfectly seasoned, and paired with an amazing lemon aioli. The smashburger is everything you want in that style of burger and is massive without being too big for one person to finish. The barbecue is what really shines on this menu. The meat in the brisket and pork shoulder sandwiches are classic southern barbecue executed perfectly, but the toppings and dressings on each elevate the total package to something new and better with subtle touches like fennel-coriander slaw and onion marmalade. And don’t sleep on the fried chicken sandwich. In a city where every menu in town seems to feature a version of this item, the one at BackPorch stands out by being smoked then fried for a uniquely flavorful bird. In keeping with the standard at this cart, the sandwich is further elevated by thoughtful flavor combinations like pickled daikon and an umami-rich miso aioli. While the sandwich is amazing as a package, the chicken is good enough that I would order a bucket of it all on its own if they served it. In all, their relatively small menu is all hits and no filler. Even after trying everything on it, coming back can be a fresh experience thanks to the ever-changing special menu that features fresh seasonal pastas, deserts, and newly-developed entrees. BackPorch Provisions hasn’t been around long, but it’s already a classic in my book.

When Ryan tells you the brisket sandwich is where it's at, he's trying to do you a favor. Believe him. Even if you don't think you can handle a sandwich and fries, get the fries, they're really good. The first time I saw this place they weren't open, but I noticed they had a smash burger on the menu. At the time there was already a cart that sold smash burgers. I joked around with the dude who was working at the smash burger place about cartside putting in a cart that has a smash burger right next to an existing cart that already does smash burgers. I thought it was awesome when the dude who was working at the existing smash burger place said to forget all that and try their smash burger too because back porch provisions is doing something completely different, and he said that the food back porch is doing is amazing. He was spot on. Both carts are awesome, and the smash burger here is totally different than the smash burger at the other cart. And Ryan, for real man, that brisket sandwich was fricking amazing. Can't wait to try the pork sandwich next time.

A hidden gem! Such high-quality, thoughtful and delicious food. The brussels sprouts with crispy shallots and lemon aioli are a must try. You can tell the folks at Backporch really love what they do. 100/10 would recommend.

Mmm mmm mmm! I have had the smash burger before and today had the Brisket sandwich and they're both delicious. As are the fries and asparagus (when they're in season). The cook/chef Ryan is great and the young lady (wish I knew her name) is also awesome. They care a lot about food quality, I will be returning to try both the pork Sammy and fried chicken Sammy soon. They also have Impossible patties for vegetarians. Definitely worth a shot if you're nearby

Absolutely delicious! I ordered the smoked pulled pork sandwich and a side of truffle fries which is served with a sort of lemon aioli on the side. Both dishes were packed with flavor and very fresh. The fries were perfectly crisp and the lemon aioli (I may have the name of the sauce wrong but it was most similar to an aioli) was the perfect compliment for the shoe string truffle fries. The smoked pulled pork sandwich was also delicious and had the perfect proportion of meat, sauce, coleslaw and bun. The pork itself was very moist and packed with a nice smokey flavor. I also had the chance to try a few of truffle oil roasted almonds that they also sell and they were amazing and addictive! The menu as a whole features salads, pizzas, sandwiches, a selection of sides, and a daily rotating pasta special. I can not wait to go back and try more of their amazing food! P.S. It’s also probably the best customer service you’ll receive anywhere in the city!

Was so excited when Caitlin/Kaitlin and crew opened back up. Started off with the charred asparagus, and the herb fries with lemon aioli. They were both amazing, and definitely going back for those. My favorite of the two was the asparagus. They had goat cheese and a balsamic reduction on it that I didn’t want to put down. We followed up the appetizers with the Penne Bolognese, and the focaccia pizza. The Penne was outstanding. Great sauce with a amazing portion of meat, and know based on how amazing it was their pasta’s will most likely sell out on a day to day basis. The Focaccia Margarita pizza was really good too! My only tip would be that if you like crispy thin crust probably not the pizza for you. However, I loved it. You could tell the focaccia and all the ingredients used on top were very fresh. We can’t wait to go back for another round to try the burger, a new pasta and everything else on the menu. With a staff that remembers you, great customer service, thoughtful menu with fresh ingredients, it’s a place that became an instant favorite.
