Thai Bbq

This place is great. Delightful pad thai, great fried rice, delicious veggie dishes. The egg rolls are so crisp and hot and perfect... not greasy. They will vary spice to your taste. Located in a modest building right on Powell, you may miss it and even sometimes I drive by it. But the food is great and the staff very friendly. When you want something warm and fresh on a rainy PDX day, this satisfies.

I love the food here. Let me start with that. If I were getting take out, it would get five stars. The food is consistently good and portions are generous. The That tea doesn't come from a mix and is perfectly brewed and sweetened with cream. I can't get enough of it! It's not the owners-the woman who serves as hostess, cashier and wait staff is extremely nice. The man- I assume it's her partner, cooks it up fast and fresh. And the ambiance is okay, too. So why the four stars? The area is really sketchy. In fact, I wasn't sure that it was even open when we went the first time and was kind of hoping it wasn't. But I don't mind sketchy areas as much as I mind being cold. Like really, really cold. I don't know if it's the concrete block walls or thrifty owners but it really detracts from the eating experience. That being said, I may love it in the summer for the same reason.

This restaurant has a lot to choose from. I have been there only two times so this is my experience based on two visits. I would say this is an average thai restaurant. They had a good variety of choices. When we visited this place, we were the only ones there which I was surprised since we went there during lunch. It's one of those places you go rarely.
