This is an updated review of piece of cake bakery from my last review. Came in yesterday once again after my meal at Killer Burger, and received the best triple chocolate fudge cake, that was made with love. I got to meet the owners daughter, who was happy to meet me, and who also was happy that I loved the cakes. as a happy little 41-year-old, who loves his triple chocolate fudge cake after every meal at Killer Burger, the happy kid inside of me came to life. as I was sitting, enjoying my dessert, the owners daughter, Randy, told me to be careful, because I was approaching some steps that goes downstairs to where I was at before at the counter. and as it got to be later, and later and later, and as I was trying to get back home, a lot of Uber drivers were busy. then the amazing thing happened. I got to talk to the owner directly, on her daughters phone, and even better. I got a free piece of triple chocolate fudge cupcake to take home. that made the happy little 41-year-old inside of me become even more happier, because all of these cakes are made with love and kindness. all in all, if you are looking for a bakery, that features cakes that are made with love and kindness, then piece of cake, bakery, in the Sellwood neighborhood, is your ultimate choice.

The cupcakes are delicious! My favorite is the raspberry jam with raspberry frosting. This frosting is light and tasty. I also tried the chocolate mint, chocolate espresso/mocha, and Chantilly. All tasted great! The gluten free options are just as good, especially the carrot cake. This is a nice little neighborhood bakery well worth supporting.

Piece of cake is fantastic. They made a wonderful gluten free carrot cake for my wedding 5 years ago, and I go back almost every year for a small version of the same cake on my anniversary. The gluten free option is delicious, no one could tell it was gluten free! Thanks again to the owner and staff. Don’t ever change!

The people at Piece of Cake are amazing! After my original cake plans fell through for my wedding, the staff here really came through for me with less than a week for my order of a wedding cake and dozens of cupcakes. The were simple, elegant, and delicious. Marilyn was wonderful and did her utmost to make everything go as smoothly as possible with such a short time frame.

The absolute best bakery in town! These folks are the kindest, best bakers I've ever met. I came to them with a very specific idea for my daughter's birthday. See picture :) They went above and beyond to the point where the cake outshined her presents. The cake was delicious and gorgeous. I spent nearly 30 mins. on the phone with the owner because she wanted to make sure I got exactly what I was looking for. I did and more! I will come here for years to come and tell everyone I can that this is the absolute best bakery in town!!!

Marilyn did an amazing job on our cakes. We asked for a small naked cake with cupcakes for the rest. Everything looked super neat and professional and tasted delicious! We got a mix of vegan and regular cake and they were both very good! My husband said the banana cupcake was the best cake he has had. Marilyn was easy to work with and made sure everything came out nicely and within our budget! I highly recommend Piece of Cake bakery.

The staff was helpful. The counter clerk did not know much about sugar-free items. She did ask the baker to come forward. The baker was able to help. I did not the fact that they put food directly onto a counter without any protection. Who knows only last time that was actually cleaned. I ended up ordering two sugar-free cakes and two slices of regular cake. They were phenomenal... Pricey but phenomenal. It made my husband's birthday. We got two chocolate sugar-free cakes topped with sugar-free black berry jam, one slice of lemon coconut cake, and one chocolate Chantilly cake slice. All were delicious! If we lived in the area I would go back. 4 Slices of cake was over $30

Serendipity. I am so grateful to have reached Marilyn, Chelsea and her team at Piece of Cake. I was looking for cupcakes for a friend who was celebrating the birthday of her 8 year old son. The request I had was rather unique. I was looking for cupcakes decorated with the universally-popular Minecraft game. The biggest hurdle I was facing was that I needed the cupcakes delivered to the location in 36 hours. Approximately 6 bakeries turned down my request and there were a few who even chuckled at the request. Not Marilyn and her team at Piece of Cake. Marilyn heard the request and immediately sprung into action, brainstorming ideas to make the cupcakes creative, impressive and beautiful. All of these were ideas that I never could have come up with myself. In less than 36 hours, the cupcakes were delivered just in time for the 8 year old’s birthday. In the process, I was able to really get to know Marilyn. She is a delightfully upbeat person, sincere, genuine and surreally helpful. I would absolutely order from her and I encourage everyone looking for quality confection to do so as well.
