Ladd Taphouse

The Ladd Taphouse incarnation of this space is okay, but they have lots of quality competition. Beers were the highlight for me here, although a couple were served in beautiful, brand-specific glassware that did not match the beer being served. As for things that I took isue with - they seemed understaffed for such a large space, and we were not visiting at a particularly busy time. One time that we did interact with a server was to discuss the blaring noise level from their sound system. I was told "We are a sports bar, this is the volume that our customers expect." Well, not this customer.... I wouldn't classify my visit as bad, but it wasn't good enough that I'll be returning without a bit of hesitation.

This place has recently changed from a sports bar to a sports bar without sports on their name. They still have just as many TVs that are prominent throughout the place, but they aren't nearly geared towards sports as they used to be. I get the feeling they are trying to distance themselves from any sports hub, but the only way they've done that so far is the name and the prices. They aren't super expensive, but they are definitely not cheap or much if a value when eating and drinking. I understand they want to be a place that fills up seats on other nights then sports nights, but they aren't there yet. Maybe extended happy hours can add a bit of value as they transition? The food is delicious though. We had the wings and they were great. The drinks are well made as well, but 2 of us cost offer $130 and we were there for half a football game.
