Ok Omens

We ate here last on a Thursday evening. It was quite busy, and the first thing I noticed and the reason for a lower rating for Atmosphere is that it is very noisy. My high school cafeteria was less so. Too many hard surfaces reflect conversations that others have to talk over. That should be addressed. That's my only complaint. Food, cocktails, service was outstanding. We have been here multiple times before, and liked it very much, but it's better than ever. All things considered, the value was good, though not inexpensive, the experience was worth it. We live in the neighborhood, we will return more often.

This place is the farthest from OK. Went here for a company dinner and was blown away from the courses. There wasn’t a single dish we didn’t love. I usually make recommendations but honestly I can’t choose between what we tried. It’s definitely fancier than places I normally eat but if I get in a new tax bracket, I’ll definitely come back. Service was amazing and the atmosphere is elegant but comfortable.

Finally knocked this off my list! It has come highly recommended by industry friends for their wine list and delicious food! Love the atmosphere, service was great! Started with several appetizers, oysters, finished up with a couple entrées and some dessert and everything was delicious! Wine list is eclectic and fun! Staff is very knowledgeable! Will revisit soon!!

The staff makes you feel welcome. The food is freshly prepared and you're never rushed by anyone to eat to meet the staff's schedule. Quite the opposite, they work to meet your dining schedule. Sitting at the bar meant great conversation, a feeling of being a regular, which being my first visit wasn't the case, where advice that was asked for was returned with clarity and professionalism, but always in a helpful way by the bartender (Richard????) The food lived up to every recommendation given before I dined at OK Omens. It was freshly prepared, with generous portions. Wine and Cocktails were fresh and lively, and served at the right temperatures. Given it was a Friday night, one never knows how good a place will be, but OK Omens delivered from start to finish. It's a gem in a town filled with wannabe gems. While others can pose and posture, OK Omens delivered the goods.

What a nice change of pace for going out. A nice limited menu that seems to get all the dishes right! I had the Roasted Chicken Salad. Wow! The dressing was perfect...chicken just how I like it! Creative drinks that really hit the spot with taste and a twist on traditional cocktails. Easy street parking in the neighborhood and outside as well as inside seating. Give it a shot, you won't be disapointed.

Dinner last night at OK Omens exceeded our expectations. Amber, our server went above and beyond to make us feel welcome not just at the restaurant but to Portland as well. She wrote down a list of her favorite restaurants for us, new arrivals in Portland. We started off our meal with scallop crudo which was buttery, flavorful and fresh with a kick of Sichuan peppercorn. The Dungeness crab was the best dish. The crab meat was sweet and so tasty. The sourdough bread was perfect for mopping up the crab dish. For mains, we had clams and trout. The trout was cooked expertly with crispy skin and moist meat. Large portion of clams with creamy green sauce. Love the cucumber granita and basil ice cream on top of the butterscotch pot de creme. OK Omens has a great wine list. We had a dry lovely French Chardonnay to go with our dinner. Not only the food was fresh and delicious at OK Omens, Amber made it a special night for us. Can’t wait to go back when it’s not so hot and sit outside.

As others have mentioned, the wine list is a treat organized by what you’d want to know to pair with your meal or just your mood. The food is also really great and the service tonight was spectacular. Strongly recommend checking it out and asking questions/taking recommendations, especially regarding Rieslings.
