I went for the food and it was AMAZING!!! No crumbs were left and a to go order was placed 😂. The music selection was just a NO for me…I excepted a selection with more energy considering it was a Friday night. Definitely a place I’d grab bite at least twice a week if I live in Portland. Menu is 100% vegan.

Absolutely loved this spot. Dig the vibes. Beers are amazing and have a solid selection on tap. Highly recommend going for a flight (up to 4 small pours at a time), because they’re so darn tasty. The menu is completely vegan and GOOD. So dope to see that at a brewery. Portion sizes are huge. All the decor is on point as well, and it’s a spacious spot!

Food and beer are both amazing! They have a lot of beer options and the entire menu is vegan with lots of good options! Overall would recommend Modern Times if someone asked me about it! Four stars because they have a lot of COVID related rules (which I totally support and include: wearing masks, waiting outside instead of in the lobby, markers on the floor for ordering at the bar for social distancing, etc) but then put us at a table with a group of strangers. If you’re going to put us at a table (where we aren’t wearing masks) with random strangers, why can’t we wait for our table inside in the AC (where we are wearing masks)? Generally don’t enjoy restaurants that make you sit with people you aren’t there to eat with, but thought this was especially strange given their other policies. They do have tables that aren’t shared, you just might have to wait longer for one of those.

Loved the saison and a few other beers. We went for the rooftop deck. It’s quiet and lovely - a few tables in the shade but some in full sun - might be hot on hot days! Order at the bar and they bring you food and drinks. We had a Crunchwrap and the secret society fries and both were better than we expected based on descriptions! Full of flavor and the Crunchwrap was not greasy or heavy at all! Decorations were awesome. Pinatas everywhere.

Modern Times is one of *the* best breweries in the Pacific Northwest. Every time we visit it is amazing and never disappoints. Their fridge is stocked with superb beers to take home and the staff is knowledgeable to point you to the best ones in each beer style. When in PDX, come to Belmont! (。•̀ᴗ-)و ̑̑✧

As someone who prefers lagers and pilsners, I appreciate that Modern Times offers a great selection of these beers along with IPAs and more. They also have some wine and cider. Their food selection is all vegan and is varied. As a non-vegan, I enjoyed what we had, especially the brussel sprouts. Fun atmosphere too.

I've lived in Portland a long time, and I had some trepidation concerning a non Oregon brewery opening in town. My fears have been put to rest. I have frequented this brewery dozens of times since they opened. Their food menu is vegan and I've never heard anyone actually complain about the lack of meat. The beers are top notch and there's a really great variety of styles. The new location is a major improvement, they expanded the seating greatly and there are quite a few new tables. I miss the flying Macho Man, but in the new space they did make a full wall design of his face with crepe paper. Bottom line, the best interloper brewery in Portland, and just one of the best breweries in town period.

Some of the best beer I’ve tasted...and I’ve tasted hundreds of craft beers around the country. Consistently high quality across different styles, especially their superb hazy IPAs and sours and interesting hybrids. Friendly bartenders will help you find what you want to drink. Medium-sized flight pours available, as well as pints. Great vibe in the taproom, which is decorated with unique designs. Grab a seat around the retro couches and chairs, or a stool along the thin wall counter. Limited food menu, but we enjoyed a late-night vegetarian sausage eggplant and tomato sandwich (weird, I know, but so savory and rich). Bonus: the hallway behind the bar is covered in colorful yarn, offering a trippy, groovy walk to the bathrooms. The cans to go get pretty pricey, so it’s hard to fork over almost the price of pints in house for the cans, but I guess they’re that good because I keep buying it whenever I’m in town. Whoops.

Awesome space to finally get to try some Modern Times beer on tap. I've had plenty of their cans, but didn't get a chance to go to San Diego. To my surprise, a local bottle shop told me they had a taproom on a few blocks away. When we entered, we were greeted by none other than Macho Man Randy Savage. The vibe was cool with vintage furniture, and decorations. The beer was just as expected with tons of options. Glad I finally got to try it in person.
