Some of the best food in town. Well made and it takes awhile to get but worth it. Great place to take visitors!

So I live around the corner from B.O.R.C and I absolutely love this place. The food is delicious, the coffee is great and their fresh made pastries and breads are amazing. The wait here can be quite long due to the small kitchen and staff but if you have the time to wait, it is well worth it. The smoked salmon hash is my favorite dish there, followed closely by the golden egg curry. A perfect place to have a meal on a lazy Portland day.

I stopped in here on a Wednesday at about 6pm with a friend and got dinner and I was truly impressed. The food was amazing. I got a beef pastie and a chicken Caesar salad and both were delicious. The freshly baked croutons and the flaky, buttery savoriness of the pastie really made the price worth it. Not only that but we got an impromptu dinner show by a local ukelele squad. I'll definitely be coming back.

This is a true Portland experience, laid back and chill dining, with very nice atmosphere and great service. You come here to eat, have a conversation and enjoy the day. If you’re in a rush and it’s busy, take into consideration that there’s not a lot of staff running the restaurant but they always do the best to give you the best experience. The cooking never disappoints, I come here for the best salmon sardine and mocha in the neighborhood. I highly recommend this restaurant as a regular who understand that the purpose here is to be in the moment and take life slowly!

SO YUMMY. They bake all their bread and my gosh. The 20 minute wait for freshly baked scones with the best raspberry jam and clotted cream? This meal transports me back to my trip to Highclere Castle!

Really really good Kippers and Eggs! I came here last week because I saw Kippers on the menu. I LOVE Kippers. They are had to find inAmerica. My grandparents were ex-pats and so I was raised with all things British. Next time I will have the Full English. Out of character I ordered a chai tea, really good as you can sweeten it to your liking. I did order a side of blood pudding in memory of my Granddad, who loved it so....It was delicious.... All crispy and spicy and chewy and meaty. I can't testify so to the baked goods but, I did have a small bite of bread and it was fab! I hope the owner will incorporate 1 gluten free baked good option
My son had the kedgeree which he enjoyed thoroughly, and my daughter had the Salmon hash; scrumptious. Service was a tad too slow for most American style restaurants but it was fine for me as we had a very loose and carefree day because it was my birthday. I will be back! note: the owner was so nice she let me buy a package of Kippers to take home. What a doll!

Wandered in for dessert with my daughter. We were greeted warmly and the chef explained the choices available. My daughter had a toffee bar and I had a lemon posset (chef explained what that is and how it's made - essentially an eggless custard). Both were delicious and carefully-made. The price was reasonable (desserts are $3.50), and I liked the tip-included policy (although I prefer when the service cost is baked into the menu price).
The whole experience was very pleasant, and we'll be back for a bigger meal, as the full menu is interesting

Full English is beyond dank. Smoked salmon hash very much on point. All of the food we had was delicious and super cute. Also, inside I didn't have to hear broke Californian refugees screaming.

Have been here twice for dinner and really enjoyed it. Food is delicious and really well priced for Portland. The service is friendly and attentive. The carrot cake was wonderful. We look forward to coming back for breakfast, as the menu looks really interesting with lots of variety.
It's interesting to me that most of the negative reviews here seem to have been posted at the same time. Seems like somebody is trying to stuff the ballot box which is so unfair. If you're in the neighborhood and are looking for something a bit different, give BORC a try and decide for yourself.

Food is excellent. Definitely something unique for our area and a good place to try out. Not over salted or over sugared like most food.
It is definitely on the expensive side but portions are generous. Lemonade is some of the best in town. Actually tastes like lemons instead of kool-aid
