Good Taste Noodle House

This place is always busy. The food is pretty good, and they have whole roasted ducks and other meats available for sale. We ordered a whole roasted pig for my husband's 70th birthday party. It was pretty good (but personally I find the concept kind of creepy. It will definitely put off your vegetarian party guests!)

The restaurant was not busy when I stopped in on a Wednesday afternoon. The server told me to sit down and brought me a menu. I ordered the BBQ Wonton Noodle Soup and received my order in about ten minutes. The broth was not overpowering and had good taste. The Wontons were juicy and slightly bland. The BBQ Pork had good taste, but was a little chewy. The noodles were firm and not soggy. A solid soup that is filling and not expensive. The restaurant has a counter at the front with BBQ meat including pork and duck hanging in cases The menu has a lot of options including vegetarian meals. You can order food to go, but there an additional charge. If you looking for an expensive place with good food, this is the place to stop on SE 82nd in Portland.

Good food, great price. Bragged about this place to my parents. But had to take back a star from 5 to 4. Went with my parents after they opened and no one was there. No one in front of us. I think they were also taking their time opening. So we ordered. Mine came out last, but why was my congee flavorless and plain? I ordered the same pan congee. Told the girl, she brought it back. It came back with the seafood, but still plain. Parents didn't find the noodles of highest quality and it seemed "soggy", not with that "bite" you would normally get. Husband and I have been here several times. This was the worst experience. We will give it some time before we head back. And maybe not be the first to arrive either.

Mongolian beef was excellent. My friend had pork with noodles, and said it was tasty too, though he was disappointed to learn it wasn't a hot meal, as they don't heat up the dry noodle dishes. The flavors were good, though, but be aware in case you are ignorant as we were, and ask questions if in doubt.
