Huge shoutout for Sheridan's! They were able to assist me with a special meat order, going well above and beyond to accommodate my request. A special thank you to Michael, meat dept manager. He was integral in accommodating me. Extremely kind, thoughtful, professional and efficient. He absolutely made our family holiday dinner a huge success! Thank you so much! I've shopped at Sheridan since the early 1970s and will continue until I can't shop any more!

I can honestly say being vegetarian is pretty easy... until I walk into Sheridan's. There's something so welcoming about the meat counter, the selection is probably the best you're going to find in town honestly. It's all local, and everyone working the counter is filled with knowledge. Making a roast for the first time? Ask! They'll tell you everything you need to know, it's almost like as if you're stepping back in time before you had to read Google reviews to figure out where to buy meat. The bulk section is a money saver, and there's not many of these around in inner SE, so make sure you don't miss it. I promise you, bulk yeast is a better deal! Especially if you're not experienced, and you're going to make a lot of inedible dough balls destined for the compost pile. Don't miss out on the produce section either; for the size of the store, it's pretty massive and it's going to be better than any local grocery store (that shall remain nameless). Now for the cheese... while their selection may not be as varied as larger stores, the quality more than makes up for that. It's perfectly placed right beside the wine shelves too... so it's makes one stop shopping easier than ever. If you're even a little bit about "shopping local", then go no further.

As soon as you walk in, it's well stocked, and as soon as you step to the left for the items down that lane, my girlfriend went wild. So much odds and ends you can't find at the big grocers. Well stocked items. The meat department is great, including the customer service, which I gotta say they went above and beyond. Certain items I never thought they had in bulk sizes were a plus. Prices are fair on some items. Everything was great until we got to the cashier with glasses. She didn't greet me or my girlfriend nor smiled at any point in time. She didn't seem like she was in a good mood at all, hence my 4 star. I will definitely shop again, and hopefully, the cashier will either be in a better mood or just not working there anymore.

Last of the old fashioned Italian grocery stores. They aren't cheap but the price is absolutely worth it for the quality. Their core strengths of fresh produce, Italian specialties, bulk foods, and a bewildering variety of house-made sausages are each reason enough to go. Together? We hit the place at least once a week.
