Found this place on Yelp. Checked out the website and, since it was close to the airport, I decided to try it for lunch. It did not disappoint. The Hot Bier sausage was spicy (but not too). The sauer kraut and German potato were excellent. They also have a great assortment of German specialty items (Lebkuchen and the like).
Glad I found this spot. On repeat trips, I will stop on the way from/to the airport. Maybe even bring fresh sausage home on the plane.
You need to try this place.
I wish I could give this place more stars. I live two blocks away, so whenever I feel like getting out for lunch, it's just a quick walk down to this deli, and I am never, ever disappointed. The staff is always super friendly, super helpful, and super quick. I've eaten there more times than I can count, and lunch has consistently been wonderful. Try this place out! I promise you won't be disappointed!
Awesome sausage and meat selection. Great lunch and dinner menu. All meats made in-house! Specials everyday. Customers are loyal to this establishment. One guy came in to just buy a couple pepperoni sticks! 👍The special i got was the stuffed cabbage... so good!
The smart and funny women running the front of the house are excellent and hugely knowledgeable. They have some type of sausage wizard on staff, his skills run deep! Many childhood memories revisited, many more happy times built shopping here. Lots of great kitchen items that are not easy to find. Amazing family owned gem!
One of two places in Portland with fresh, authentic German sausages and cold cuts, made in house by a Master German Sausage maker. Also has a good selection of cheese and Bier and other select imports. The other place is Edelweiss on Powell Blvd. Both are excellent choices for lunch, or if you are shopping for German deli fare and imported groceries to take home and prepare yourself.
Great German Deli which unfortunately us up for sale owners retiring (last day March 31). Hope someone buys and continues the deliciousness. Gut gluck!
Best sausage in the world, awesome selection of deli meats. Always a treat to stock up for the weekend. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff.
So many very good options. Sausage or sausage. The mici is amazing. Great deli. I would go broke if this place were closer to home.
Bacon awesome. Pastrami awesome. Bierschinken awesome. Jerky awesome. Eat here, you won't be disappointed. If they don't have what you're looking for, ask and they'll probably make it.
