The atmosphere is very relaxing I liked the beer offerings & the food bites were tasty and fresh A good place to hang out before a concert at the Roseland .

If you're expecting a plethora of light beers on tap and having to shout to be heard go somewhere else. If you want a nice small bar with a variety of quality beers on tap and a friendly atmosphere come to the tugboat. Bar tender Linsel is both friendly and attentive to detail with good knowledge of the beer he's selling. As for food the menu might be as small as the number of taps and a little basic, but some dishes boast the same quality. Ask for garlic with the homemade mac n cheese. Books available to the lone drinker, board games if you bring friends. Disclaimer: this isn't an ad for the tugboat, I came from the U.K. and this is both familiar and impressive

Cozy bar with books, games, and a selection of very good beers (and ciders). I enjoyed our visit a lot. While they have food, there is no kitchen. So, it's not really a 'dinner place'.

EDIT this joint is closed now. Sad Y'all. This little hole in the wall is EXCELLENT with the ambiance and decent prices! Also the beer selection is pretty ok too. Family was in town and I was playing tour guide to brewpubs. Thank the internet gods for keyword searches. This joint showed up on the map and based on name alone I brought the gang here. I am SO glad I did! I had an excellent time, we all did! The woman tending bar was knowledgeable and friendly and super down to earth. I was brand new to this place and yet I felt super comfortable there like it was my neighborhood watering hole. Basically, I highly recommend checking this place out. BONUS if you like board games they have a million to choose from.

The beer that tugboat brews is the best beer to drink here. Had to come back to add a written review because I can't stop thinking about their beer. Looking forward to going back!

Loved this place. Decent selection of beer (just about one of any type you like, except sours). Relatively cheap glasses of wine and the bar bites were tasty. The bartender was also very nice and helpful. Bar was relatively quiet, so good for meeting up with a larger group of friends. Highly recommended.

A small place with an entrance that I had to walk around the block before I found it--which adds to its charm. Old books line the walls--a touch that I always love seeing in a pub, as it gives it a feeling of relaxing in a living room. Impressive beer selection. EDIT: This is my second time here, and it's become my favorite place to hang out in city, mainly due to the atmosphere, but also with a very nice beer selection. It really feels like being in a cozy dimly-lit living room rather than a crowded bar.

The atmosphere here is great. It is dark and cozy. The beer selection is limited, but good. I love the books and games that are all over the place. They do have a food menu, but it is pretty limited. It is fine for a snack between drinks, but don't plan on a meal.

Love this spot! Linsel is a fantastic bartender and conversationalist. Great pub food. Beer only feat their house brand as well as guest taps. Great for a date or relaxing night out w friends. Also friendly to the nerds so bring your Magic cards or a Pathfinder game, spend money on food and booze(and tip!), and have fun.

First and only bartender that has ever asked me if I go by a different name from the one on my card. The atmosphere is fantastic, homey, and comfortable. And the bartender made it that much more awesome, introducing himself and getting to know people. I'll definitely be coming back here for chill nights out!

Beautiful little hole in the wall, tucked out of the way and hidden on a side street. Staff has an amazing knowledge of the surrounding breweries and we a pleasure to talk with. They only have snaky bar food but everything was made right there and quite quickly. Excellent place I think I'll stop in again next time I'm in the area.

If you're looking for a laid-back, casual, fun atmosphere where you can relax with some friends, chat, and play a board game or two, then you HAVE to go to Tugboat. Tugboat's brews are really tasty, especially the Chernobyl Stout, which is my favorite. It tastes like coffee and chocolate and beer and magic. Their food is simple, but just right for the atmosphere. Highly recommend.
