A new sushi restaurant has opened in Portland and let me be the first to tell you how good it is. Beautifully presented rolls that taste as good as they look. They had low priced specials available for lunch and the prices were reasonable over all. I recommend you give it a try!
We had an amazing experience at this restaurant. At first the unusual space and style of service was offputting but we were quickly put at ease by the incredibly fresh and beautifully presented sushi. The food was incredible and the experience truly unique. The focus here is on the food. Everything
repeating what another reviewer said - the chef ( that was the only person there today so also our server) appears to be on the autism spectrum - knowing this in advance might help you (we learned reading during our meal). As you'll read below - our experience was excellent.
Excellent sushi with
Really enjoyed the surprise items we were given which made the price seem a lot more reasonable.
My husband never got the main course that he ordered but we didn't say anything because we thought that they just haven't brought it out yet and we had already been there almost an hour after they brough
Stopped by with my partner and got a couple rolls to share, everything tasted amazing and the fish was really fresh tasting compared to a lot of places I’ve tried. I ate it too fast to take pictures! Can’t wait to come in more often!
Note: adding some perspective to the negative reviews- the owner/operator is on the autism spectrum. I applaud his courage and belief in his end product (which is masterful) in the face of neurodiversity barriers.
Review: What a gem and much needed addition to the PDX sushi scene! Probably had the
This place was truly a pleasant surprise when I ate there tonight. Was immediately greeted as soon as my partner and I walked in a warm and enthusiastic way! The chef, who I assume is also the owner, was so professional and attentive to us. We ordered a tempura appetizer, yellowtail bento, and gril
Absolutely incredible. Would recommend. I’ve read through all the bad reviews and they’re just complaining about delivery or other nonsense. The entire restaurant is run by one man until 3am with the highest quality of food. I absolutely love this place, and urge you to go.
When Chef Hide 👨🍳 was there, the sushi 🍣 was very good. I went there several times. Chef Hide had trained in Japan to be a sushi chef, and the techniques are evident of that. It is a very traditional authentic Japanese restaurant. It was run as a one man show, but this kind of gave a more personal
I order takeout from here weekly, high quality fish alwaysss & authentic Japanese menu. Sushi Zo-ya is an owner-run/ one man operation & I’m so grateful he stays open late 7 days a week. Thanks Hide!
The food was incredible. We ordered the grilled black cod, and it came with 4 small sides we didn't expect, but they all blew us away.
Apparently they only do takeout after 10pm, which isn't very clear, and some dishes come with additional sides that aren't detailed on the menu.
Great keto options if you know your way around the menu 😌
