I am from Detroit and East Glisan is one of my favourite Detroit style pizzas in town, hands down! The kale-Cesar is excellent. The staff, ambience and mood in here is always warm and inviting! Do yourself a favour. Consider it self-care!!

The polenta crust on the gluten free is incredible. I do not miss the regular flour crust. I feel like I have pizza back in my life. The chickpea fritters are like savory donuts with the perfect dipping sauce. My new favorite comfort food.

EGPL is one of our go to neighborhood spots. Pizza is delicious, but the lasagna on Sundays is the real winner!! I also dream of their long-gone Welsh rarebit mac n cheese... this place also really supports community organizations in the neighborhood! Can't say enough great things :)

Washington post says this is the best detroit-style pizza in portland. That may or may not be the case, but it is certainly very good! the bottom and edges were quite crisp and overall it was very tasty.

After nearly two years of living in Montavilla, we finally tried East Glisan Pizza Lounge's Detroit-style pizza and it is PHENOMENAL. I dare say it's the best Detroit-style pizza in all of Portland. A perfectly fried, crispy crust. Loads of goey brick cheese. A perfectly balanced sauce. And they use old-world style pepperoni that get crispy and cup when cooked. We paired it with their house take on Moscow mules and their house Caesar salad. A fantastic meal and awesome, attentive but not hovering service. I can't believe we waited this long to try the pizza!

This place is pretty good. Have dined in here before, but this time we ordered online for delivery. It was delivered in a reasonable amount of time, we live fairly close to here. Ordered the "Detroit Style" pizza, which was very tasty. Only thing is we didn't realize they are only 8" x 10" inches, almost small enough for one person if you've got a good appetite. We should of ordered two of these, so we'll know next time.

So this pizza spot is obviously highly ranked already before I even put my 5-star rating in and I'll explain why. This new york-style pizza also does Detroit deep-dish but we didn't do the deep dish this time, we'll hit that up next round. So the environment is very lounge-type it has a couch corner space for drinking night caps with a good friend or potential new girlfriend or boyfriend. We ate in the back corner was a little dim but once your eyes adjust it really seemed to be fine. Wait staff was really nice and patient and was good about making sure drinks were refilled or we had second round if we wanted it. We did stop in after 9 so we tried some of their happy hour food and drinks. I didn't take a picture of it but I did have the garlic bread bites highly highly recommend they were delicious. One of the main reasons I would definitely be on board with the eating leaves again is ordering the garlic aioli as a dipping sauce. Now onto the main Pizza I always order a pepperoni with extra cheese and sausage if able to. I usually do this for the same reason as I get a nice bass of what type of pizza this restaurant will make. The pizza came out very flimsy in a traditional New York style pizzas which I'm on board with! The pizza was pepperoni sausage extra cheese and had fresh mozzarella. The sauce was light not heavy and not super zesty. The pepperonis were crunchy but not very fatty that you would normally get when you have a pepperoni pizza and the oil drips off your hand and all over. This pizza was not very oily and did not do that. So in closing check this pizza place out it's phenomenal I'll be coming back ready to try the Detroit style pizza. And bring my family along! Also we tried a dessert and we would definitely recommend it it leans a little bit on the citrus side which I do appreciate!

We received a “sorry-about-the-WI-FI-pizza” from our Airbnb hosts last night. Apart from our house host ordering it for pick-up (🤔🙄😂), it was fantastic! This is the meatball pizza. It was served with fresh basil 🌿. We would definitely visit this place again. Don’t over look it if you are in the area! Topping list could be inclusive.

I was a little nervous to try this place as there were mixed reviews on the vegan pizza. So glad I gave it a shot! I got the spicy eggplant and puttanesca pizzas and the caesar salad. The house vegan Caesar dressing was wonderful and I loved the croutons and roasted pepitas. The spicy eggplant pizza was simple but so delicious. The eggplant was cooked perfectly and I love how you’re given fresh basil to put on top. The puttanesca was pretty good but a couple thoughts for the owner/chef. There was a little too much sauce/cheese so the crust gets a little soggy and it’s hard to eat. Maybe a little less sauce/cheese would be better. I actually really enjoyed the puttanesca cold! The flavors were brighter or something. Also, the crust on the pizzas was incredible as well. I definitely will be back to try their other vegan options including the sausage and kale one. Sounds great! Thank you for having such great vegan options!
