My daughter and I stopped in after visiting the neighboring museum hoping for a unique experience like Portland often has to offer. Taiji Teahouse definitely provided that! It is clear they are passionate about tea and its usefulness when it comes to wellness. Our host patiently explained how to steep each tea well and we both really enjoyed our selection of tea along with the experience of steeping it ourselves. I am very sensitive to caffeine and this did not cause jitters or a crash. It was remarkable. The food was delicious, too! We ordered the Korean chicken and the noodle dish. Both were excellent. I can’t wait to go back with some friends!

Came in to take a break while on the clock. The people were inviting, and the atmosphere was calm. A great place to decompress.

We didn't go for tea, just a quick bite, I'm vegetarian and initially thought the concise menu was a deterrent. Completely surprised by how delicious and nuanced the flavors are! Definitely will go back

My family and I came here out of chance to drink some tea before continuing our tourist activities. To our surprise we found such a fun gem of a shop where not only was the tea delicious, fragrant and an authentic taste and experience, but we got to chat with the shop owner and saw parts of himself in the shop. My dad was especially taken by the Chinese poem on the wall. 10/10 would come back for a chill chatty tea experience. His almond cookies were also spectacular. ☺️

gem of Chinatown downtown Portland. Eric and his tea house are the real deal. So thoughtful and beautifully presented. A calm among the storm. I commend this tea house for standing strong in Chinatown PDX. highly recommend the Ginger noodles with Chicken, and the extra special almond tea cookie, grandmas secret recipe!! We’ll be back!!

This is what I imagine a Chinese Tea House would have been hundreds of years ago. The menu is small but the items on the menu are the highest of quality. The tea service comes with both heated water, pot, well, and cup. The owner will work with you to carefully choose the right tea and kindly advises on how to best enjoy your brew. There are strategy games available to play, food and treats. The perfect place to bring a friend for a natter, or a book.

Recommended by the barista at the coffee car in the Society hotel (across the street), this is a not to be missed traditional tea service experience. It was just like my experience in Hong Kong with the tea tray, a little pot with tea leaves, and a supply of hot water and tea holder (for the tea you make) and a cup for drinking) - you essentially wash a set amount of tea leaves with a small amount of hot water, over and over and you get to experience the changing flavor of the tea. I had an energizing Oolong and it was $8 for the whole thing (bt please, do tip), they have food as well but I had just eaten. Eric, the owner, is super nice and knows a ton about tea - I plan to go back tomorrow - a delightful and healthy (mentally and physically) experience when visiting Portland.

I came into Eric's shop to treat myself to a thai massage and tea service. I ordered the sweet lime tea and it was so refreshing. I didn't order food this time but I will be back again to do so. Rayn's massage was wonderful!

Tons of delicious vegan options! The tea was a very fun tourist experience in our own city. Eric was knowledgeable and very enlightening.
