I hadn’t had much experience with Latin American food, and being a vegan I didn’t think I would be able to properly enjoy it. I’m so glad that I found this place because it was one of the most mind-blowing places I have ever been. I came here because my roommate and I were wanting to try a new kind of food for their birthday and Chilean food was a cuisine we hadn’t even dipped our toes in. Drinks were strong, food was absolutely decadent, and the service was spectacular. The waitress was so helpful and had one of those personalities that could make anyone smile. I would absolutely recommend to anyone, vegan or not.
Not being either a vegetarian nor a vegan I was a little concerned about not finding the pork-chops on the menu. When I asked about it the waitress (super friendly and 'on top of things') remarked, "Someone dragged you here, didn't they..". Yes, they did and I'm glad of it. Superb food. Sopaipillas con Queso, which were little bread things stuffed with vegan mozzarella and served with a side of pebre.
I didn't ask what "vegan mozzarella" was, nor did I ask about "pebre" but both were - what's the word, oh yea... Scrumptious. While the serving size was fine, I could have easily polished off two plates. I'm like that sometimes. For an entree I had a couple of the "Empanada A:" -
With all the cool menu names, none of which I could effectively pronounce since Portuguese wasn't taught in my school - and nothing on the menu resembled asking where the Library was or who was going (in Spanish) which WAS taught, I thought it interesting that the Empanada's, which were delicious and the salsa (Zanahoria) to die for, were named in such a blasé way. Empanada A, B, C. Hmmm.
My buddy had the Guiso which was an incredibly tasty concoction served on "dill-polenta cakes". With his fork in attack mode lest I sample too much, I tried a couple of bites and it was pretty amazing.
So yes, I was dragged here by a friend who is super picky about what he eats, unlike my generously proportioned self, but am so glad I was. Charming little place, incredible food, super nice waitperson, and the bill was $4 more than I paid for lunch the same day at a slightly upscale hamburger joint. (Can I use the word "hamburger" in a review about a Vegan restaurant?)
Easily a five Carrot or celery stick rating or whatever vegans use.
Great restaurant with flavorful food and a relaxing atmosphere! My table ordered every dish on the menu minus the soup, and it was all amazing. The small plates are an enjoyable portion, and the Empanadas were pretty big! The dishes are all unique and steer away from the classic approach to vegan food. I would recommend for vegans and non-vegans.
Loved everything about Epif! The empanadas are scrumptious and the special drink we got was mind blowing!
The plates are on the smaller side so it gives a good opportunity to try multiple things. The flavors are bold and delicious and being an entirely Vegan menu, this has to be one of the best Vegan places for South American cuisine. Would love to visit again and try other items from the menu.
Very tasty vegan food. The taste is authentic and creative. Love it all the dishes we ordered. Our favorites are the causa and mushroom ceviche. The infused pisco is also yummy.
Finally got to try this place because their hours are so limited. This is probably one of the best empanadas I've eaten and you can tell it's fresh.
Their little plates are also amazing. We ordered the little stuffed peppers that came with some greens and their polenta dish. Their specialty mocktails are also tasty. I can't fault any of the dishes. They were just that delicious!!
Our hostess was so nice and accommodating and I felt like we had the whole restaurant to ourselves.
This place is amazing! The food is absolutely delicious! Service is great!
A great place to bring yourself out for a quiet dinner after your meat-forward family heads back home after a (longish) visit. I devoured, quite blissfully, the carrot cream cheese empanadas and salad with pickled onions and sunflower seeds. The flavors were balanced and oh so yummy.
Very delicious all vegan. Simple menu, great pinsa cocktails, great customer service. Outdoor seating is limited, so call in a reservation ahead.
We love Epif & dine with them every time we're in town. Great vegan food & ambiance. Especially love their empanadas, polenta with mushrooms(not pictured), their broccoli cream soup & the guava vegan cheescake. The cocktails are always amazing. Quiche was a little gritty for me but had good flavor & was a generous size. Looking forward to dining in with them again soon, only had carry out this visit.
Epif is a charming vegan/vegetarian restaurant with a delicious menu and fantastic staff. We’re very lucky to live in a city that offers all kinds of food but I have yet to try a more delicious vegan menu. And the empanada was one of the best I’ve ever had. But this place is a specialty restaurant, on 28th ave, with limited space and staff. It is important to practice patience because it is well worth the wait. The clean, flavorful, fresh ingredients will leave you feeling happy and full. Not just full of food, but also with peace and contentment. With a staff very invested in offering you a wonderful dining experience.
Everything was delicious. Cream cheese and tempeh empanada was my favorite. Polenta was great. Loved the quiche and salad. Cute outside seating.
