Uchu Sushi And Fried Chicken

Uchu is a sushi lover's dream! The ambiance is modern and inviting, and the sushi is simply outstanding. What sets this place apart is its fantastic array of vegetarian options. The Vegetable Tempura Roll and Avocado Cucumber Roll were fresh, flavorful, and expertly crafted. The menu proves that sushi doesn't need fish to be extraordinary. A must-try for sushi enthusiasts and vegetarians alike!

We had the most unreal and amazing experience here on Sat, 10/28/23... Because it was Halloween Saturday, this place was not packed to the brim like it normally is, and we felt like we had it all to ourselves! The food was absolutely delicious - fresh, tasty, sashimi with beautiful plate presentation! Featured roll specials with new ingredients not normally seen in sushi rolls for BOTH vegans and meat eaters! I tried a Sake Sangria AND Shochu, both of which I've never had before! and the Baked Mussels, OMG - to die for!! We had 2 servings of it. But mostly, our service was the absolute best part! KORIN is amazing!!! She provided great information on their products and had the most effervescent, happy energy which helped us have the most enjoyable time and caused us to stay longer, enjoying more of their tasty cocktails and 2nd helpings of what we ordered to take home and enjoy later too. We had a wonderful time and THE BEST SERVICE EVER!!! Can't wait to go back and visit her again!! Thank you so much for this unforgettable experience!!

Okay, let me start off by saying how ashamed I am of myself for walking past this restaurant so many times. I LOVED EVERYTHING about my experience here. The food, the staff, the atmosphere, it was all so good! The portions are AMAZING for the price. The foods quality was amazing! I ordered the Katsu Chicken and Eel unagi it was BANGING!

Loveee this place. Both times I’ve been at busy dinner hours and barely waited to seat and food came out so fast, servers and hostess were super sweet. I’ve had the vegan chiang mai roll, vegan jalapeño poppers, and the lychee rain cocktail. All were super delicious; I normally don’t go out for vegan sushi as it’s often just plain veggies but there’s is so flavorful! Also incredibly reasonably priced. I paid around $35 for my sushi, my appetizer, a cocktail, and a 20%+ tip. For a dinner on Mississippi that’s not bad at all. A friend I went with, a sushi fanatic, who had the non vegan sushi also said it was delicious and very reasonably priced. They also have a happy hour when it’s even cheaper! Surprised by the few reviews mentioning wait times as I have never waited at dinner time when it’s busy! But I’ve heard happy hour is a lil more busy; you have to expect that lunch time and super cheap food there’s gonna be a lil wait, no reason to leave a nasty review; just go somewhere else if you don’t wanna wait :) those are also the only ones that mention poor/rude service, which I don’t think that having to wait for service on a busy happy hour = rude, seems a lil entitled! 🤷🏽‍♀️ Servers here were kind and working hard.

Bar seating for 1 please I love coming UCHU Sishi. Prior to the pandemic I’d come here at least once a month for either lunch or dinner. My favorite spot to sit is at the bar top so I can watch the bartender mix drinks and if I’m sat further down the bar you can watch the chefs roll your sushi. The service staff is always attentive and the drinks are yummy. You might have noticed I ordered a lot of food for just me but I wanted a little taste of everything. Go check them out.

I haven’t dropped in to UCHU 🍣 for a few years now, so I planned a meet on Saturday with friends, and it was lovely. You can’t go wrong with anything in the menu, but The spicy calamari was the bomb 💣 and the fried chicken 🍗......... oh the fried chicken...... Low Key one of the best sushi spots in Portland.
