Oh my... We had a very nice relaxing dinner. Loved the homemade bread. The Sugo Barese was excellent!!! The beef was to die for/melt in your mouth excellet!!! The pasta was homemade and perfect. And to top it off, the cannoli was the best I have had. We definitely will be back. Thank you for a great meal and relaxing time.
Amazing food, the cheese plate with vegetables was heavenly! The bread made fresh daily was delicious, the wine pairing was perfect and the cannelloni dessert with espresso was the perfect end to the meal. The price was super affordable too. 4 adults with a bottle of wine, appetizer, 4 entres and dessert was only $171. Will definitely be back especially since they have opened an adjoining shop where I can buy their amazing hand made cheese and salami! So happy we stumbled across this place!
Great little restaurant. Five of us celebrated my friends 96th birthday there last night. Enzo gave us his special attention, which was as delightful as the food he prepared. I wish I could recall what we ordered but my memory fails me. I just know we all were exceedingly pleased. I read quite a few prior reviews and cannot understand why anyone would complain about anything at this delightful restaurant. The food was great, service couldn't have been better,0 the setting was perfect for our celebration and the prices reasonable. I will gladly visit ENZO again.
Its the real deal !!! Like being in Sorrento on the Amalfi Coast. A bit pricey I thought but one bite and you'll forget the cost.
The food at Enzo's was amazing. The owner was a warm and friendly guy and took the time to personally recommend items from the menu. Its a little pricey but totally worth the $ tag. They have homemade mozzarella cheese and pasta (the entree i tried) which tasted out of this world. I totally recommend this place and will definitely be back to try more of the dishes on their fantastic menu
The food was very authentic and with great Italian flavours. The owner was very attentive and welcomed us very warm in Italiano. We are coming back to eat the food and the great Italian wine served at the Enzo's cafe.
Great Food & Service. One of the most flavorful, well presented meals I've had in years. Everything from the table bread to antipasto to entres to desserts was excellent. The four of us had goat, rolled beef, lasagna and eggplant. All first rate. Several interesting vegetarian options. Good service. Pretty restaurant.
Awesome food and great staff!. Great food for the price we paid. We got appetizer on the house too! I don't think I have had better Italian food elsewhere. The best part - FRESH PASTA... and you can really tell the difference.
One of the finest meals I have ever sat down to eat. The staff was wonderful and the food spectacular. Five stars.
Great Food, Decent Service. After reading all of the great reviews on here about Enzo's I figured I'd give it a shot; I was in the mood for some good Italian food. The food certainly did not disappoint. It was some of the best Italian I have had in quite a while.
There was just a couple of things that kept me from being completely satisfied: it took quite a while after being seated for a server to come over. We had to ask for a wine list when she failed to bring it to us the first time around. I requested a bottle of Pinot Noir that was priced $25. The waiter said they were out of that wine, so I asked for his recommendation for a similar bottle. He then spoke a bunch of Italian so I gave him the benefit of the doubt and said it sounded good. He then brought out a bottle that ended up being $40 when I got the bill. It was good, but I would have never paid $40 for it had I known.
The bread was AMAZING, however the plate was pretty small. I suppose you want to "leave them wanting more" anyhow.
The serving size was a bit smaller than I am used to at Italian restaurants; good for one but not big enough to split.
Summary:
All-in-all, the food was fantastic, service was decent, and it was a bit pricier than anticipated. The page says $10-15/plate, however I'd say $15-25/plate is more accurate.
Amazing. We were just driving down Alberta on a Sunday afternoon looking for an early dinner with friends and stumbled across this place. We have all spent time in Italy and this is the real thing. Wonderful food, great wine, fun staff. Be sure to check this out.
Wow!. I have been moved to tears by a meal twice. The first time was at the Tsuzki fish market in Japan, at a tiny sushi bar with the freshest, most well crafted sushi in the world. The second time was this evening at Enzo's. I could describe each part of the meal, but you can read the menu just as easily. Portland is extremely lucky to have this restaurant, may they stay for as long as they like. Definitely, go!
Such a cute place with a unique menu, all made from scratch. This was the best breakfast I´ve had in years, hands down. I had the mole breakfast enchiladas and the flavors were so good, I couldn´t stop eating when I was full. My friend had the chilaquiles and we shared a side of grilled potatoes; all were delicious! The service was fast and friendly, the ambiance was authentic, clean, and comfortable. Prices were very reasonable too. I can´t say enough about my new favorite breakfast place. I´ll be back because I want to try everything!
Tried this place for the first time today and I can definitely see why they have all 5 stars and Raving reviews. Superb food and flavor, will definitely be coming back and try the mole which was recommend to us and their drinks.
One of the best Mexican restaurants in Portland!
So many delicious Salsas, Sauces & the 3-day Mole - Flavor! The 3-Sauce Enchiladas are out of this world! I also like the Burrito with Brisket covered in Mole. The staff is gracious and the beer ice cold. Our first visit was late weekday afternoon and the restaurant wasn't too busy -- I wondered if the 5 Star reviews were hype, but was then completely blown away by the amazing food! We've been back every week since, and this is now one of our favorite restaurants.
Great small business nestled only a few minutes away from the highway! The restaurant was very lowkey and had a great atmosphere. Bring cash if you want a small discount. Service was friendly, and we didn't have to wait too long for our food. I didn't see any parking lots nearby, mostly street parking. If you're coming on a Friday or Saturday night, I would keep in mind fitting in some time to find parking.
Don't even get me started on the carne asada because every bite was amazing. They also served our food with 3 different sauces -- each a different level of spicyness. I don't recommend if you can't handle your spice. Every dish was packed full of flavor. It was truly a dining experience worth savoring!
I loved the salsas and tortillas they gave us.
Empanadas ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
- would come back only for the empanadas
- it was really that good. I'd skip the mains.
Green Chile brisket ⭐⭐⭐✨
- really good and flavorful
Carne asada ⭐⭐⭐
- it's what you'd expect but it was a little too tough for me and wasn't spectacular
This is a great new authentic Mexican restaurant. The atmosphere was very cozy and I loved the ambiance. The staff was incredibly friendly and pleasant. The food was awesome. We were there for dinner but I can't wait to go back and try their breakfast, the menu looks amazing. They have Chilequilles!
A lot smaller interior than expected, but not tight or uncomfortable seating. Table service was very prompt and friendly. Friday night 5:15 pm a family of 3 and a table of 2 inside, 2 with their dog outside didn't feel crowded. Dinner plates are oversized which gave a false impression of skimpy portions. We ordered appetizers of chips, guacamole and assortment of salsas. Carnitas Plate with Pork, rice, black beans. Handmade corn Tortillas, steamy fresh on the side. Not boring or bland and not swimming in grease, delightfully flavorful without over seasoning. Priced at the upper end of "I just blew my monthly dining out budget" in one meal. I'm still working on accepting the increasing cost of everything in Portland. There is kids menu and the breakfast menu looked interesting. Clean, friendly with delicious food! I'll be back soon to experience some of the other dishes they offer.
Such a great brunch spot. Everything was fantastic including the mole enchiladas and breakfast burrito. Our server Annabelle was so kind, warm and helpful as it was our first time at Rjs. She recommended the orange juice and it was the best we’ve had. Highly recommend visiting for brunch!
RJ Skillets is one of the relatively new Mexican restaurants in Alberta Street, as of 2022. Authentic cuisine that is rich in flavors and presented with care. The owner and employees are all generally very nice and aim to please. Serving breakfast starting at 9am till 3pm and dinner till 9pm. Sit inside or on the street side patio. Great food and great atmosphere. A bit pricey, but you are paying for quality and a great meal.
If you are thinking about trying this place out GO NOW. This place is incredible. The service was amazing and the chef is so talented. We are visiting from Michigan and I’m bummed we don’t have this place where we live. It’s incredibly budget friendly but HIGH QUALITY food. We loved this place and can’t wait to come back next time we visit portland.
