Thursday, December 21, 2023. Went with my son to have the best fish & chips in town. However, I switched to the daily special… Roast Beef with Yorkshire pudding, mashed potatoes and gravy and peas. Outstanding! Best roast beef dinner I’ve ever had in a restaurant! Tasted like homemade! Gravy was not too salty, like out of a can like most restaurants. Waitress was kind and attentive as ever. They got it down. 👍🏻

Classic. It feels like places like horse brass pub should be above things like Google reviews. This place is beyond a star rating. It is truly a traditional British style pub, smack dab in a quiet neighborhood in Portland. The fish and chips are fantastic, but do not skip on the cheese plate.

If you're a Trekkie discover where the U.F.O.P. flag is. Try the veggie pastie. There's also a veggie burger. Love the fish n chips. Local brews.

Probably the closest thing you’ll find to an authentic English pub in America plus this place is considered to be where the craft brewing movement began in America. Fish & Chips with coleslaw and an Everybody’s Brewing Old Soul American Porter Bangers and Mash with pumpkin ale

As real an Irish pub as you'll find in Portland. Great beer list, an incredible fish sandwich, darts, kitsch, music, dark and woody. Just don't take my favorite table.

Wow!!!! My dad asked to go here for his birthday a few days ago and I was a bit surprised since none of us are drinkers, but once I tried the food I understood completely!! The atmosphere is a perfect recreation of a British pub—even on a Monday night, the place was bustling and alive, although it is a bit chilly and dark. Every inch of the large restaurant space is decorated with creative and thematically appropriate decor, and they have bar games and everything! But beyond the amazing atmosphere, the reason to go is the food!!! The food!!!!!! You’ll never get me to shut up about the food!!!!! Who would have thought that traditional British food could be so delicious? I ordered bangers and mash and I got a veritable mountain of the best food I’ve eaten in my life. I want to live in that plate of potatoes and peas. Everything came generously portioned and tasty and the waitress was attentive and wonderful and I wish I lived in Portland so I could come back sooner!!!

Portland classic with god tier beer and awesome English food and great atmosphere. Every time I come here I forget how dark it when we enter- but then your eyes adjust. It’s filled with flags, lights, and memorabilia from everywhere but it feels like a classic English bar. Super stylized and feels authentic. The food itself is great. This trip our table has fish and chips, chicken pot pies, and French dips. All delicious and great portion. Beer wise whoever picks their beers has been stellar for years. Give them a medal! Awesome fresh hopped beer and tons of classics from the US and Europe. Fun hangs. The staff are so friendly and helpful. I’m at a great place to have a meal, beers, or hangs.

First visit to the Horse Brass was great. Walking in the place was very dark, but I like the environment, and all the memorabilia and things to see on the wall. We were warmly greeted by our server, and we seated ourselves. Our wonderful server was very attentive. We enjoyed our food very much. The fish and chips were fantastic. We'll have to go back and try some other food items like their pot pies and sausage rolls. ;-)

The Union Jack fly's high over the bar at the Horse Brass Pub and the menu reflects it. Our group enjoyed the evening with scotch eggs, bangers and mash, fish and chips and a pot pie. I think I left with a wee bit of an English accent. For a small slice of life over the pond have an evening here. I did like the fact that they had a wide selection of local microbrews.

Love Horse Brass. Elite level taplist and darts setup. Scotch egg is a classic and service is top notch. They even give you full service at the dartboards!
