Got their famous biscuits and gravy with a side of bacon. All very good. Brought half home to enjoy later. They did not serve diet colas so I drank water. $17 plus tip.

Amazing! My wife and I came here looking for a good spot for an easy breakfast. The food was out quickly and very flavorful. The coffee was fantastic also bottomless. The cafe is small with limited seating, but the wait wasn't too long. I could see how that might be a problem had we come on a weekdays. The service was top notch and very friendly. Would definitely dine again.

Had seen this restaurant on Food Network but it was my local Portland friends that convinced me to go. Had both the biscuits and gravy and the Sicilian hash and both were unbelievable

Arleta Cafe. My boyfriend and I hit this place up last Sunday and I was pretty impressed. Small, cozy dining area. This place only has about 6-7 tables and you can watch the chef create your meal right in front of you. Greg got the Portland Best Biscuits 'N Gravy, he LOVED them. I got the Sicilian Hash..pretty good. Its not corned beef hash, it tasted more like momma's slow roasted Sunday pot roast. There was a lovely parmesan scrambled egg folded neatly on top that was also very good. We will totally be back. Oh! Try the Prosecco & OJ for $6.00!

Oh yeah! Super cool friendly peoples and tasty tasty grinds. I thoroughly enjoyed my quiche of the day....light, fluffy and just the right amount of ingredients for a well balanced flavor. The mixed greens salad complimented it perfectly! Oh yeah, did I mention the excellent service and super friendly peoples? };^)~

Yummy!. I had breakfast at Arleta Library for the first time on Saturday morning, and was very impressed. Excellent service, and awesome food. I had the biscuits with rosemary gravy, and was not disappointed. The sweet potato biscuits were divine, and the rosemary gravy was delicious. However, the potatoes were not cooked, so I couldn't eat them...this was disappointing. Overall, the meal was very tasty and I would recommend Arleta Library to friends in the future!

Pleased. Me and my gf went to try the b&g after my dad passed up when he heard the wait was over an hour. I dont mind waiting to eat a good breakfast. Or good biscuits n gravy for that matter. While waiting the owner, dont know the name gave me and my friend a crumb cake, while I dont normally go for sweets for bfast or brunch I more importantly dont turn down free food. It was very yummy! The biscuits and gravy were different from the norm but very good. The eye candy isnt bad either.

Loved it!!. My husband, 14 month old daughter and I went on a Sunday afternoon and had our choice of seats. The french-pressed stumptown coffee was fantastic. Even though there are no high chairs or booster seats it is a very family friendly place as the staff does not look at you like you're from Mars for bringing in however many children of whatever age you want! I don't understand why so many people have a problem with this, what is so awful about holding your child in your lap?? Maybe if my husband and I had triplets this would not have worked out but I doubt we'd be eating out very often in that case. We had the biscuits and gravy and coffee cake and all were exceptional specimens. Another problem people have with this restaurant seem to be the potatoes. Maybe we lucked out but I thought they were very good. They tasted like potato, gasp! They weren't your regular IHOP or Denny's hash brown swimming in whirl (those are good too) but were more like larger than normal home fries. We didn't even have to salt and pepper the biscuits and gravy like we normally do at other places. The waitress was very knowledgeable and was quick to refill our coffees and waters. The portion size and price were all very reasonable considering they don't just open cheap cans of stuff and put labor into each part of your dish. I will definitely go back again and again!

Slightly Disappointing.... After seeing Arleta's on the Food Network I was on a mission to try this place! But I was a little disappointed when I finally got the chance to visit recently. Biscuits and gravy were pretty tasty but I didn't find them absolutely amazing like I was expecting them to be. They came with bland potatoes I wasn't too impressed with. The restaurant itself is very, very small. We had to wait a long time for a table despite them being slow. I absolutely fell in love with their macaroons, though. Now those were amazing!! Overall, I liked Arleta's but was expecting much more from them.

The arleta cafe is open for breakfast again! New owners and slightly different name, but same location as the old Arleta Library Cafe, and same style of neighborhood comfort food. Service is great and VERY kid friendly; they even have Mickey Mouse pancakes on the kids menu! Half-size orders are an unexpected treat as well. My bacon was too crispy for my taste but I’m sure if you ask the friendly waitstaff they can fix that. Good hash browns with a nice hint of onions, and French toast was cooked just right with a nice amount of cinnamon in it. Definitely a place we will start frequenting again

Great food! Well prepared, creative dishes, super staff (Ryan worked hard; and had great service)! Would have liked to give more review stars, but the interior needs improvements ($15,000 windows) + ($4,000 floors) that would go FAR during this slow season, and be ready for *way* more business for Summer '23. I would certainly come back again! -- Christian

Outdoor patio ✅ Reasonable Prices ✅ Good food ✅ Chill music ✅ For less than $15 you can definitely get full on food that was maybe on the lower end of quality when it entered the kitchen but the cook has managed to do every thing possible to make it into something very few could do at home. An 8oz steak that may include a strip of cartilage and be a bit thin, and she still manages to cook it perfectly to medium rare, season it to perfection, and add a side of house made chimichurri. Every dish and side I've had on my other visits are just as impressive. Equally important, the waitress is inviting and easy to talk to, even to the old man that is always berating her with seemingly insulting comments but in reality they're having friendly banter. I hope this new addition last because it already feels like something important. A part of the community

Suprisingly good prices. Get that cushy window seat if you have a chance, and a half breakfast option is nice to have
