The restaurant is a true Portland experience (As in a house turned restaurant) there is porch seating and plenty of space inside as well. The woman who cooked our food actually delivered it to us and was funny and really nice to speak too. There were 5 of us and we could hear each other no problem. Even though people were behind us we couldn’t hear them so it’s definitely a place that you can have conversation over drinks after eating. The staff over was nice and again just very Portland Vibes and a place to take friends and family when they visit. Parking wasn’t bad we did get there soon after they opened; so I can’t speak on how it is later in the day with Hawthorne being a busy area and having stores all around. I feel that’s just another Portland thing though and doesn’t take away from the restaurant or the experience it self. Overall my party and I loved it and will mostly be visiting again! 🤩

Cute brunch spot, large dishes and vegan options, in an old house with a lot of character. Good coffee and good food. Popular and on-street parking only. My vegan scramble was satisfying.

This place was an excellent brunch spot and very much worth the wait. We had very friendly and knowledgeable servers, great food, and a warm friendly atmosphere. There’s definitely a good reason this place is busy. Parking is downtown street parking, so do be prepared to drive around a bit to find a spot and walk back. We really enjoyed our mochas, poutine (though it was smaller than we’d hoped), and the mushroom gravy. The cheese scallion biscuits were delicious, as well, but a little denser than the southern biscuits we’re accustomed to. The tea-infused compote with the French Toast was also incredible! I wish they sold the tea blend, as they make it in house. All in all, a lovely place and I really hope we’ll make it back again soon!

Since my friend and I were driving down to Portland from Seattle, we wanted try the famed Hazel Room. We couldn’t get on the waitlist, which they close around 12 and you need to be there in person to add yourself to it. We were okay with a seat at the counter - so, that worked out! When my vegan biscuit & mushroom gravy arrived - I was already thinking about reviewing this place with a 4-star as the plate wasn’t the best I’ve seen. However in a few minutes, I was wiping my plate clean. 😊 In hindsight, I love that the plate was really about the food - no pretense, just delicious food! The potatoes were crispy, the tempeh was interestingly flavored, the “vegan omelette” was meh, but the biscuit and mushroom gravy was yummy!! If you’re in Portland, don’t miss this place!! 🙂

Would you go out of your way for a $19 breakfast sandwich? Well once you try theirs you will!!! Unique pairings like goat cheese and berries will have you salivating long after you're finished. Highly recommend!!!

small and cozy but expensive. the matcha latte was not too sweet which is perfect for me and the mocha was quite tasty as well. paid $11 for the poutine only for it to be cold. the french toast was super soggy and the bacon was burnt. the eggs were also spongy but still tasted decent not worth the $45 we paid but the experience was fun.

such a lovely, satisfying experience on this mid friday afternoon. easy lighting on the eyes, cozy atmosphere makes it feel like you’re at a distant family members home, especially with the warm hospitality of the staff. noticed many dietary restricted options which i always find very pleasant for an establishment to offer. got the brioche bread pudding french toast and the pumpkin spice martini, absolutely delicious

We had a wonderful brunch at the Hazel Room. We had a party of four, so it was about a 30-minute wait. The drinks were creative. The food was delicious. Best of all, the service was fantastic. Super friendly and attentive. There was no pressure to turn over the table. A quaint and relaxing environment.

Perfect spot for Sunday brunch. My GF was craving French toast. But she is vegan. Found this spot and it was a HIT! Vegan French toast was 8/10. No specified reason as to why.. but presentation 10/10. The eggs Benedict is well worth it! The potatoes were crisp just right and tasted outstanding. Bacon cooked to perfection and English muffin couldn't have been toasted any more perfect. Mimosa and tequila sunrise were brilliant. Such a great meal. Only issue was when we ordered a second drink... it never came. Granted it was near closing time. Non the less. Perfect spot for vegan options and a delicious brunch.
